As Jose Perez has noted previously here on PWInsider.com, the newest promotion in Puerto Rico, World Wrestling League (WWL) intends to make a big splash with their debut on 4/21 and don't plan to just remain confined to the Island.

The promotion is already looking into running several markets in the United States as well as International tours of several South American countries. The goal is to build the promotion by working with groups in those local markets as partners and bringing in talents who work different styles to create a greater overview of the "culture of wrestling" as it was explained to me.

Richard Negrin is the President and owner of the promotion. Former WWE announcer and long-time Puerto Rican wrestling announcer Hugo Savinovich is heavily involved with the promotion, which has booked talents from the United States, Mexico and Puerto Rico for their debut.

Negrin and Savinovich were in New York City this past week scouting talents at the Ludus Wrestling Academy in Brooklyn, NY and doing site surveys on potential venues for down the line.

The company is also looking into doing potential iPPVs, including the April debut, which will be held at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico, which can hold up to 18,500 fans. The 4/21 show will be headlined by the first-ever AAA Mega-Championship bout held outside Mexico as Texano Jr. will defend against Ricky Banderas aka Mesias in TNA.

I dig the fresh roster look they seem to be having by working with different partners dependent where they are, it's an easy heel route to attack the local talent. This reminds me to try and watch some WWC now, I've been meaning to for a while, apparently Carlito was very good there.
