Tecmo recently invited us to its upcoming new game announcement, taking place on March 24th. According to the invite, this will be the greatest "_____" game ever. Logic tells us that the new game announcement will be a continuation of one of Tecmo's franchises. Could this be the greatest Dead or Alive game ever? Maybe it's the greatest Ninja Gaiden game ever? Better yet, it might be the best Rygar game ever, dethroning the recently released Wii version.

We may not know what Tecmo is planning to announce, but we're confident the game will be for either the PS3 or PSP. Why? Tecmo's announcement will take place at the PlayStation Store in San Francisco. If the company's upcoming game is a PlayStation exclusive, it continues Tecmo's newly-found love affair with Sony -- the company is currently working on Undead Knights and Quantum Theory as PlayStation exclusives.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2? I love how Tecmo is working with Sony again. Dead or Alive 5 is probably going to be multi-plat which is fucking awesome because I had Dead or Alive 3 and it was easily one of the few good xbox games and one of the best fighting games.

Itagaki was a 360 fanboy. Despite that, he made Team Ninja. They suck without Itagaki. Without the 360 fanboy, the rest of TN decided to suck Sony's dick. Too bad they suck without Itagaki. If only he wasn't such a 360 fanboy, and he coulda stuck with TN. But Itagaki deserves better now. Hopefully his fanboyish ways end.

Itagaki=RKO

Team Ninja=Priceless

Imagine if Itagaki/RKO leaves the team. Then nobody gives a shit about the other guys. Thats what we're dealing with here.

How do you know they suck? There better now because they make games for the PS3. Also he left because of unpaid bonuses.

Just because there making games for PS3 doesn't mean there going to be better. And I would be worried about the future of any company that was unable to pay one of there lead designers his bonus. Anybody remember a little company called Acclaim?

For Tecmo's sake I hope they do well. God knows we don't need another company to fall to the side. (Midway could be completely gone by the end of the year). Even with a recesion, people still will find away to buy video games. Places like Gamestop might be able to survive, but the people making the games is a different story.

Tecmo is doing fine. I don't know why they didn't pay him the bonuses but it probably wasn't due to money issues. They make enough money from Ninja Gaiden and DOA. THQ is the company to worry about.

THQ needs to stop making shitty kid games most based on movies and focus on making a kick ass WWE games, but the UFC game they are putting out looks sick.

lets be honest, all the companies are in trouble. I wouldn't hold much faith in any of them surviving if the current trends and econemy continues. Though as of right now Midway is certainly the only one that will be gone by the end of the year. Who after them? Who knows.

It's been confirmed that it's Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.

March 17, 2009 - Ninja Gaiden is making the trip to the PlayStation 3 again. It's got the "Sigma" in the middle of the name, but Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is a port of Ninja Gaiden 2 that promises a number of new features.

First shown in that usual source for Japanese gaming information, Famitsu, Sigma 2's biggest new feature is making Ayane playable. While the purple-haired "kunoichi" female ninja from Dead or Alive has always been a major part of the Ninja Gaiden story, she'll be playable in Sigma 2 and promises a completely different gameplay experience from Ryu Hayabusa. The magazine shows Ayane making use of a dual sword and teaming up with Ryu for what appears to be a combination attack of some form.

Other "big" updates include the presence of new enemies in some stages. The magazine introduces one such enemy, a giant Buddha. It also appears that the Statue of Liberty from the 360 version will be appearing in enemy form.

New weapons are on the way as well. The magazine introduces the new Hasaiga Enma, a massive weapon that appears to be taller than Ryu himself! It's unclear if this is the only new weapon or if PS3 owners can look forward to more.

A bit more mysterious perhaps is some supposed PlayStation Network support. The magazine does not indicate what form this will take.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 is being developed by Team Ninja, with production and direction by the original Sigma's Yosuke Hayashi. Japan will get the game some time this fall.

An official site for the title will open up on the 25th, suggesting that this is probably the game Tecmo America has been teasing about for an unveiling on the 24th.

Sounds good. First I need to get the 1st one but by the time this comes out ill have beaten it and be ready for this. It must suck to have a 360 they lost another one of there great exclusives.
