Ok MMA fans, here we go. The first ever IWF MMA fighter rankings. I will try to do this at least every month to month and a half considering how many events are taking place these days. Some may not like where some are ranked, some will. Sit back and get ready to discuss and debate. Without further adieu.......IIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTT'SSSSSSS TIIIIIIIIIIMMMMMMEEEEE!!!!!

HEAVYWEIGHTS 206lbs - 265lbs

1. 1. Brock Lesnar 5-1. For the first time in God knows how long, there is a new king of the 265lb division and it's not Fedor. Lesnar came out at UFC 116 and again silenced his critics. He showed tremendous poise, which has been a strong suit of his since he started MMA, class, humility, and an improved ground game, pulling off a wonderful submission over who many considered the heir apparent to Fedor, Shane Carwin. Lesnar now will defend his Unified UFC HW title against Cain Velasquez. Stay tuned boys, the UFC 265 division is getting better by the day.

2. Fedor Emelianenko 31-2. Look, just because he dropped his first fight by an acutal fighter stopping him, doesn't mean the guy is finished. He still holds the WAMMA 265lb belt and after having an UNHEARD of 27 fight win streak stopped, it's hard to discredit Fedor. He had Werdum in serious trouble, but got a tad overzealous and got caught. Hell, it still took Werdum quite a few to finally get Fedor to tap to an extremely tight Triangle. Don't count the Last Emporer out just yet fellas.

3. Junior dos Santos 12-1. Cigano is still a stud. After defeating Roy Nelson, it's all but a sure thing he'll draw the winner of Lesnar vs. Velasquez.

4. Alistair Overeem 33-11. The best Overeem we've seen in a long long time. Granted he hasn't beat a whole lot of well knowns the last few fights, but he's still winning fights, and that's what matters. There are tiny rumors floating that the UFC is looking at him. Rumor has it that Fedor is next in line for his SF title.

5. Fabricio Werdum 14-4 (debut) Vai Cavalo SHOCKS THE WORLD!!! He pulls off the first in ring/cage win over Fedor and showed he's not to be taken lightly. Werdum showed he can beat anyone on any given night, but seemed to be written off after the UFC released him Lets get it straight now, the UFC let him go because he asked for more money, not because they didn't want him anymore. He's only been finished once in his career, and is now the only man to beat BOTH Emelianenko's, Fedor and Aleks.

6. Shane Carwin 12-1. Shane Drops 4 slots after falling to Brock, but it's sure not for lack of will. Shane had him on the ropes and hurt a little in the 1st, after that it seemed like Shane punched himself out. He'll be back for sure. I have a feeling he'll draw the loser of dos Santos vs. Nelson, or possibly Ben Rothwell.

7. Cain Velasquez 8-0. Yes he slides a spot, but it's not a big deal. With Werdum pulling off one of the biggest, if not the biggest upset in MMA history, Cain would stay put. He's the next in line to face Brock at UFC 121. The UFC HW's still giving us fireworks.

8. Josh Barnett 29-5. One of the best in the World at 265, Barnett has found a home "Down Under" for the new Impact FC organization. The Babyfaced Assassin is on a 6 fight win streak since PRIDE shut it's doors.

9. Frank Mir 13-5. Mir makes his UFC return after getting pummelled by Shane Carwin at UFC 119 when he takes on Big Nog for the second time.

10. Roy Nelson 15-5. Nelson suffered his first UFC loss, but it was nothing to be ashamed of as he went the distance with Junior dos Santos. He may draw the winner of Mir/Nog II.

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHTS 186lbs - 205lbs

1. Mauricio Rua 19-4. With Shogun injured for the time being an interim title fight may be in the works.

2. Rashad Evans 15-1-1. Suga showed he wants his title back. He put a solid gameplan together and took out Rampage quite well. Rashad looks hungry. I have a feeling I may have to start liking the guy a little bit. He's capable of beating anyone on any given night. No word on who Evans draws next.

3. Rich Franklin 26-5. Franklin put himself in the title picture after his dismantling of former UFC posterboy Chuck Liddell. Maybe Rashad Evans next???

4. Lyoto Machida 16-1. Word is Machida returns to the cage at UFC 123 against Rampage.

5. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira 19-3. After a razor thin win over Jason Brilz, Lil Nog returns at UFC 119 to take on the up and coming Ryan Bader.

6. Jonny Jones 11-1. Wow, completely dismantled one of the most respected vets at 205. Jones is definitely a contender for the UFC 205lb title.

7. Muhmmad Lawal 7-0. King Mo defends his Strikeforce 205lb belt for the first time against the 9-2 and Team Nog member, Rafael Cavalcante at Strikeforce: Houston.

8. Gegard Mousasi 29-3-1. The Dreamcatcher embarrassed former UFC fighter Jake O'Brien and will now fight for the DREAM 205lb title at DREAM 16 agasint Tatsuya Mizuno

9. Quinton Jackson 30-8. Rampage falls hard after getting picked apart by Evans. He gets back into the cage at UFC 123 against Machida, huge fight for both.

10. Ryan Bader 11-0. The kid keeps getting better and now wants his chance to shine. He gets it at UFC 119 when he takes on Lil Nog. Huge step up for Darth.

MIDDLEWEIGHTS 171lbs - 185lbs

1. Anderson Silva 27-4. Whew!!! Anderson escaped with his title after being dominated for the better part of 5 rounds until he pulled out the submission win over Sonnen. A rematch could be in place, but the word is Vitor is next in line.

2. Jake Shields 25-4-1. Im going to keep Shields as the number 2 guy at 185 for now. He makes his UFC debut against Martin Kampmann at 170lbs coming up soon. So we'll see where the former Strikeforce champ really ends up.

3. Chael Sonnen 24-11-1. Normally when a fighter loses he slides, but with such an impressive showing, I still think Chael is number 3 right now. Once Shields goes to the 170lb rankings, I can see Chael moving up. That also depends on how the guys below him do.

4. Hector Lombard 25-2-1. The Bellator champ nexts takes on Whisper Goodman at Bellator 24 then a defense against Season 2 tourney winnner, Alex Shlemenko will be up for him.

5. Alan Belcher 16-6. The Talent wants a title shot and could have had it had he defeated Demian Maia, however he had to withdraw from the fight with an injury. No worries, we'll see Belcher back in action soon enough.

6. Paulo Filho 20-1. Fans were upset when Ely had to pull out of his fight with Lombard. He did bounce back though to pick up his 20th career win against newcomer Daniel Gabriel. Filho still wants a fight with Lombard.

7. Demian Maia 12-2. Maia was to be taking on Belcher next, but with Belcher getting hurt, he fights agains at UFC 118 against Mario Miranda.

8. Yushin Okami 25-5. Thunder is making a statement and wants back into the title picture after an impressive win against Mark Munoz. We'll see what the future holds for him.

9. Chris Leben 21-6. The Crippler has vastly improved, and has put himself back as a player at 185. It will be interesting to see who he draws next. I wouldn't mind seeing him take on Alan Belcher one bit.

10. Tim Kennedy 12-2. He has a chance to claim the vacant Strikeforce 185lb title when he takes on Jacare Souza at Strikeforce: Houston. 11 finishes in 12 victories, Kennedy is one of the toughest 185lbers most don't know about. Can he stay in the rankings??? We'll find out after his fight with Souza.

WELTERWEIGHTS 156lbs - 170lbs

1. Georges St. Pierre 20-2. GSP is going to be a coach on TUF 12 against Josh Koscheck. After the show, the two will meet for the UFC 170lb title.

2. Jon Fitch 23-3. Granted he's not the most exciting fighter, but he wins fights and that's what matters. He handily beat Thiago Alves again, and has earned himself another title shot.

3. Josh Koscheck 15-4. Kos gets GSP next for the title after he coaches on TUF 12!!!!!

4. Nick Diaz 22-7. Diaz keeps improving as the SF 170lb champ. He's still wanting a rematch with KJ Noons, and the UFC has expressed interest in brining him back.

5.. Lyman Good 10-0. Good is still the Bellator champ, but he has his hands full next when he defends against Ben Askren.

7. Dan Hardy 23-7. The Outlaw makes his return at UFC 120 when he takes on Carlos Condit in a Fight of the Night candidate.

8. Martin Kampmann 17-3 The Hitman has put together nice back to back wins against Volkmann and Thiago to get back into the title hunt, he has his hands full when he takes on Jake Shields next.

9. Jay Hieron 19-4. Still awaiting who he's fighting next. Could be Diaz for the SF title.

10. Dan Hornbuckle 21-3. Despite falling to Ben Askren in the BFC 170lb final, the Handler will be back. Trust me guys, he's too talented not to.

LIGHTWEIGHTS 146lbs -155lbs.

1. Frankie Edgar 12-1. The Answer showed class and grace when he said BJ Penn more than deserved an instant rematch at UFC 118. I can't wait for this fight as I think the Answer has the Answer for Penn again.

2. Gilbert Melendez 18-2. No word for El Nino. SF and Bellator are still trying to get a superfight going between he and Eddie Alvarez.

3. BJ Penn 15-6-1. He gets a chance to regain his belt at UFC 118.

4. Benson Henderson 12-1. No word on when Smooth defends his title yet, but Im sure it will be soon, as WEC cuts a torrid pace.

5. Eddie Alvarez 20-2. Coming off a win over the tough Josh Neer, Alvarez next gets to defend his title against the hungry Pat Curran. Curran is tough fellas, keep your eyes on this one.

6. Kenny Florian 13-4. KenFlo is working his butt off trying to get back to a title fight. If he takes out Gray Maynard, the UFC has no choice but to grant him another title bout.

7. Gray Maynard 9-0. If the Bully beats out KenFlo, he earns his title fight. We'll se what happens when these two hook up at UFC 118.

8. Shinya Aoki 24-5. The current DREAM champ looked much better in his win over Kawajiri then he did in his loss to Melendez.

9. Evan Dunham 11-0 After beating Tyson Griffin, Dunham has more than earned this spot. 4-0 in the UFC against solid talent in Per Eklund, Marcus Aurelio, Efrain Escudero, and then Griffin. Keep your eyes on this kid.

10. Takanori Gomi 32-6. A lot of fans were doubting if the Fireball Kid would ever return to his PRIDE form. Well after dismantling Tyson Griffin at UFC on Versus 2, Gomi is back fans. Can't wait to see what the future holds for him.

FEATHERWEIGHTS 136lbs -145lbs

1. Jose Aldo 17-1. Defends his title next against the tough Pitbull, Manny Gamburyan at WEC 51.

2. Manny Gamburyan 11-4. The Pitbull found his home in WEC and gets a crack at gold at WEC 51.

3. Joe Soto 9-0. 8 finishes for the Bellator Champ. He's tough fellas. He defends against Joe Warren next.

4. Wagnney Fabiano 14-2-1. He keeps on rolling after UDing Franklin Gomez at WEC 49.

5. Marlon Sandro 17-1. this kid needs to be known by common fans. Sandro holds 2 titles. One in SHOOTO and one in Pancrase. His only loss was a Split decision. 10 wins have been finihses. Fans, keep your eyes peeled for Sandro.

BANTAMWEIGHTS 126lbs - 135lbs

1. Dominick Cruz 15-1. Cruz defends his title at WEC 50 against Joseph Benavidez. FIREWORKS!!!!

2. Joseph Benavidez 12-1. Benavidez finally gets his chance against Cruz for the title.

3. Scott Jorgensen 10-3. Jorgensen can secure a title fight, but he has his hands full at WEC 50 with ATT's 19-4 Brad Pickett. Pickett has 9 straight wins and finished in 15 out of 19 wins.

4. Brian Bowles 8-1. Still waiting to see who the former champ draws next.

5. Miguel Torres 37-3. He'll be fighting at WEC 51, but not known who against. He needs this win BADLY!!!!

FEATHERWEIGHTS under 125lbs

1. Jussier da Silva 7-0. The king of the 125s. He's a cardio machine who has no problems going the distance with anyone.

2. Mamoru Yamaguchi 23-5-3. Still awaiting who he fights next. SHOOTO needs more coverage.

3. Yasuhiro Urushitani 17-4-6. 2 straight over Ryuchi Miki. Kid is tough.

I have to disagree with Dos Santos being above Carwin and Velasquez imo. Other than that no major complaints except GSP being at #1, but I just hate him lol

Understandable guys. There's no way I'll make everyone happy, that's for sure. The 265ers are so close it's really hard to rank them. To me GSP earned the top Pound for Pound when he beat Penn. At the time you had the best at 170 taking on the best at 155 and GSP came out on top. Im with ya though bro, Im not a huge GSP fan. I have respect, just not a fan.

Yeah man, overall I don't have anything bad to say about the list and yeah 1-5 at 265 are all easily interchangable, and without much complaint either way. Yeah, I do see where you are coming from, my main knock on him (next to his extremely boring fights) are the amount of time since he has fought, and no offense to Dan Hardy, but he is not exactly one of the top pound for pound fighters in the world. Honestly, I would love to see another Penn/GSP fight, I think BJ has grown quite a bit since the last time they hooked up.

Amen bro. Hardy has got to win this next fight. I give him mad props for taking such a tough fight after a loss. Condit is no joke. He's a former WEC and Rumble on the Rock Champion. This is definitely a make or break fight for Hardy. He wins, he stays in the rankings, he loses, Condit takes his place I think. We also have to remember, Jake Shields is stepping back down to 170 and has Martin Kampmann in his first UFC bout. So I think we'll have some big shakeups coming next month.

Shields is going to be at 170? Sweet, I wasn't sure what weight he was going to be fighting at, he will definetely shake things up for the entire division, dude is tough. I am really looking forward to watching his first fight. Same goes for Condit, I am a huge fan of his as I am Hardy's. It should be a great fight, like you said it's going to be make or break for Hardy, if he loses I could legitimately see him not getting a big time fight for quite some time.

Hell, for the remainder of 2010 there are going to be some pretty awesome fights, even though at first glance this last UFC PPV card didn't appeal to me aside from Sonnen/Silva and Nelson/Dos Santos it turned into one of the best cards in recent memory. However, I am really looking forward to the Velaquez/Lesnar fight in October more so than anything else tbh.
