What has developer Treyarch been cooking up the past two years? Looks like we'll get to find out this Friday as GameTrailers TV will air the first teaser trailer of the next Call of Duty game.

Not much is known about the title. Rumors and speculation point to the series shifting to Vietnam this time around, leaving the World War II setting in the past. So far, Activision has only confirmed Treyarch is developing a new Call of Duty and that it will be released this calendar year.

GameTrailers TV airs Friday at 12:40 AM EST on Spike.

Better be in Vietnam.

I still haven't gotten the last one yet. I hope they do something about the extremely short campaign.

Infinity Ward has really only been lazy with the campaign length. Not Treyarch. I'm sure it won't be as short as MW2. Hopefully.

lol, IW fucked up MW2. Treyarch does nothing but improve. In other words Treyarch>Infinity Ward. Maybe Activision hurt MW2 but either way it is a Infinity Ward product.

How did IW ruin MW2? MW2 is great, the only thing that ruins it is the noobs that play it.

Common sense. Campaign is short, harrier is bullshit, commando is bullshit, Spec Ops is garbage compared to Nazi Zombies, etc.

According to a report from VentureBeat, the next Call of Duty title developed by Treyarch will be set in the Vietnam era. Persistent rumors over the past year suggested the game, set for release in 2010, has shifted away from the traditional World War II setting.

The report claims the game is titled Call of Duty: Vietnam; however than might not exactly be the final name as we have yet to see a game in the series with its location in the title.

"Tomorrow you will see a teaser for this year's Call of Duty game," said Thomas Tippl, chief operating officer of Activision Publishing, in the report. "Treyarch is working on it and taking the Call of Duty franchise to the next level."

Activision declined to comment on the report. The teaser trailer is set for debut on Friday at 12:40 AM EST on Spike TV.

Once again it better be and I'm sure it is. I'll rage if it isn't in Nam.

Did you not read it? It's called Call of Duty: Vietnam, right now.

Edit:: I think I get what you mean now.
