And this means absolutely nothing tbh, Punk loves playing the marks more than anyone. He might mean it now, but no one would be surprised if he came back next Monday. Honestly him saying this makes me think he might even be about to return or something.
How many times has Jericho said that he would "never be back"? Hell, freaking Bret Hart said he would never be back. Sting said he would never sign with WWE. Never means nothing in wrestling.
I honestly wouldn't give two fucks if he comes back or not. He wasn't much of anything but an overhyped bust to me, a guy who got over by crying about his spot, given the platform to cry about his position, and the character was supposed to be about change, but only change he brought was viewers changing the channel.
I've missed him since he is my favorite wrestler but I can still enjoy WWE without him. I doubt he holds to his word if nothing else down the line comeback in a non wrestling. I honestly think he is just saying this so people will stop asking him about it all the time which he will still get asked about it anyways.
Agreeing with basically everyone here in that he isn't missed that much anymore. His spot on Raw (which was in a weird position by the time he left) has been or will soon be filled by rising talent, and the things I feared between Punk's departure to Wrestlemania (Batista cutting in to win the title at WM and Bryan thrown under the bus) did not come to pass so any anger I had for WWE over talent not being pushed has fizzled out. I still miss Punk's promos every week because he's one of THE best in that field, but I'd rather see the new generation of wrestlers start making waves than seeing the Punk routine again.
And of course Punk can always change his mind in future. He may fully believe right now that he'll never be back but things change.
He will be a part timer like he always criticized and his sheep will sip the kool aid, like with his fake pipe bomb for all the true wrestling and not sports entertainment fans, or all his I'm for giving the young guys a chance shit while sandbagging them and kissing part timer ass by being on point when money was to be made
