I read that the last Impact to have its Neilson ratings announced got a 1.1 cable rating with "a 1.8 share." Wtf does that mean? This is the first time I've ever heard of a share in the Neilson sense.

If I'm not mistaken a 1.8 share means that 1.8 percent of the US population tuned in to watch the show.

I thought that's what cable ratings were.

So if a share is a percentage, then what is the cable rating a measure of?

Okay, so let me get this straight.

A general rating of 1.1 means that 1.1% of all the TVs in the nation were turned on during 9pm ET on that particular Thursday night, right? Of that 1.1%, 1.8% turned in to TNA, so the total percentage of TNA viewers at that time of all the TVs in the US are (*punches it into computer's calculator*) .000198%.

Is that in the ball park?
