NBC has decided against going forward with a drama pilot about 1980s professional wrestling involving Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as an executive producer and Jerry Bruckheimer’s production company, reports PWInsider.com. The option for the series was not renewed last month. Since NBC purchased the series and guaranteed a pilot episode would air, the network is believed to have paid a penalty for dropping the project.

Shame about it getting dropped. Credit to The Rock for trying to pursue other things I guess.

Rock should just get as many easy roles as he can playing the buff funny guy in kids movies. No need to venture into lame sure-to-fail projects like this one.
