On memoir:
“Over the last year, I have been working on a book. I was so nervous about announcing it, sharing it with the world because it’s been like my baby. I’ve been working so hard on this and pouring my soul into this. And I was so grateful that in the summer, Triple H allowed me to have time to work on it and to really dig into it.”
“Once I signed my new deal, I started working on it and really just pouring my soul into it. And it was one of the most cathartic experiences of my life to be able to go, ‘OK, I want to tell my story,’ because once I started writing it, I realized that a lot of people don’t know my story.”
On competing at Bloodsport:
“I have been screaming for change for myself for so long. I was at that crossroad where I was like, ‘I need more, I want more.’ And the thing about being in WWE for as long as I’ve been there is that it’s very easy to get comfortable.”
“I think I have to do different things and I have to get a little uncomfortable. Josh Barnett is a really good friend of mine and somebody that I deeply respect, and I reached out to Josh and I was like, ‘Hey, you’re going to be here during WrestleMania week. I would love to do what Shayna (Baszler) did last year.’”
“I’ve trained with Josh before. His style is very, very reminiscent of the Dungeon style and, of course, where my family has come from. And so they, Triple H and Josh, were both super supportive of it.”
