Championships and accomplishments

1 As part of the New World Order (nWo) storyline, the title was spray painted each time with the "nWo" initials and renamed as the nWo/WCW World Heavyweight Championship, while referred to by nWo members only as the nWo World Heavyweight Championship.
2 During one of their reigns, the nWo invoked "Wolfpac Rules" and named Syxx a co-champion due to a legitimate injury to Nash.

Must have been crazy to see that heel turn live back then, Hogan turning heel and just seeing how genuinely pissed off fans were about it

Awesome moment, Hollywood Hogan is for sure when I found him at his most enjoyable, I don't enjoy much of his earlier work. nWo rules

This could’ve been the greatest angle ever if it stopped at Starrcade 97

I feel like at some point or another, everyone except DDP, Booker T and Goldberg were a part of WCW’s nWo or one of the affiliates

It still is. It’s just not perfect.

And I disagree 1997 was the right time. The Wolfpac was actually the third most over thing in wrestling in 1998. I’d argue what screwed the pouch was the reunion because Kevin Nash was insanely popular and neutering his pops was a huge mistake.

In my opinion, Wolfpac kills the nWo in late ‘98.

Then you keep the Wolfpac small and let them run however long they stay over and the fact is they were still drawing big numbers even as heels in 1999 until Hall, Hogan and Luger all got hurt around March. The Bullet Club is still going strong after 9 years and so is New Day. The length isn’t the issue. You just have to dial them back from the company takeover angle and you can keep them around.

The original goal was a full brand split. That’s why all the 1998 PPVs were WCW/nWo branded. The plan was for nWo Nitro and WCW Thunder after Starrcade ‘97, but a disaster test run for Nitro made Eric get cold feet and he pulled the plug, but the PPVs were already sold as nWo PPVs with logos premade and advertising sold etc.

When you’re nWo you’re nWo

The nWo was the coolest thing back then. I’ve never been a Hogan fan but I’ll admit I did like the Hollywood Hogan character.

I always thought Hogan was a cornball and Scott Hall and Kevin Nash were the cool ones.

Note how Hogan would say "for life" real fast while Hall and Nash would say it slow.

Nash was always my favorite out of the original trio because he oozed coolness. Same with Scott, but with Hogan I just didn’t like red and yellow Hulkster and thought Hollywood was more interesting

I always liked Hall because of what you said and he was the first one we saw in WCW.

I never thought Hogan was particularly cool per se even though I did enjoy his heel character until he joined the Wolfpack in 99 when he had the Jenco jeans and beanies then I thought he was pretty cool.
