Despite a good showing from one third of fan favorite group the New Day. Xavier Woods would end up failing in his attempt to become the new WWE Cruiserweight Champion. As he would fall victim to a Murphy’s Law from the champion

KEVIN OWENS & SAMI ZAYN(C) VS THE USO’S
The WWE Backlash KickOff Show concluded with a WrestleMania 34 rematch for the WWE SD Tag Team Championship. With the roles of defending champions and challengers reversed. As the duo of Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn(c) defended against The Uso’s. Owens got the win by pinning Jimmy Uso with a Pop-Up Powerbomb.

Corey Graves and Michael Cole welcomed the WWE Universe to the 2018 WWE Backlash PPV.
Seth Rollins beat John Cena via unseen help from Samoa Joe to become the N1C to the WWE Universal Championship.
Backstage pre-recorded promos from WWE United States Champion Bobby Roode(c), Daniel Bryan and Luke Harper aired.
Daniel Bryan beat Bobby Roode(c) & Luke Harper via the Busaiku Knee on Roode. To become the new WWE US Champion.
A split screen showed WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Asuka(c). And the former champion Charlotte Flair preparing for their match.
The Woken Nightmares(c) beat The Bar to Retain the WWE RAW Tag Team Championship. Bray Wyatt pinned Sheamus with Sister Abigail.
Pre-recorded promos from WWE Intercontinental and WWE RAW Women’s Champions Bayley & Dean Ambrose(c) aired.
Asuka(c) beat Charlotte Flair in a 2 Out of 3 Falls Match. To retain the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship with a score of 2 - 1.
Pre-recorded promos from the duo of Alexa Bliss and The Miz aired.
Bayley & Dean Ambrose(c) beat Alexa Bliss & The Miz. To retain both the WWE Intercontinental & WWE RAW Women’s Championships. Ambrose pinned Miz with Dirty Deeds.
A video hyped up WWE Sky’s the Limit for the 17th of June.
Finn Balor(c) beat Samoa Joe to Retain the WWE Universal Championship. Thanks to unwanted help from John Cena.
PM: Cena entered the ring and laid Joe out with an AA only to be hit with a Shotgun Dropkick from Balor.
Pre-recorded promos from WWE Champion Shinsuke Nakamura(c) and AJ Styles aired ahead of the main event.
