My take on WWE programming post hiatus

I hadn't watched WWE in three years prior to this past week. Just binged watched upon request and constructed a take. First, I'll confirm issues you've all brought up:

WWE is not NOT compelling and their stories do NOT make sense. WWE is NOT interesting and WWE is NOT coherent in their ability to develop any characters whatsoever.

From what I can tell their programming accomplishes one task and one task only: WWE programming is just....fun. That's it.

I actually believe wrestling fans take the product far too seriously. They analyze with too much depth. Now, I won't deny many of you are experts. Maybe wrestling geniuses. WWE isn't a perfectly orchestrated entity. Not even close. You're too wrestling-intelligent if that makes any sense.

I encourage you all to ditch WWE. You're too advanced. If it's not fun (and only fun), don't bother.

RAW and Smackdown is total bullshit. It's a waste of time.

Actually, you read my post wrong. I don't require wrestling to be complex, interesting or even good. What I noticed was that it was fun. I don't care if it's any more than that.

I totally agree that, as fans we often take wrestling way too seriously and forget to just enjoy it without being so critical. But I also think that WWE is messing with their fans on purpose, just fuck with them and keep them interested despite their product being absolute trash.

Haven't watched RAW or 205 for months.

NXT is still good, Smackdown is getting rough.

And hey, maybe we fans do take Wrestling a little too seriously? But I guess with me, I've been on a hiatus kind of naturally with me doing different things Mondays and Tuesday nights or just forgetting because well, it's been a bit formulaic watching experience for some time, and if it's like any TV show where every episode the same things happen, being "critical or not," you lose interest eventually. Then especially with the "Wild Card rule," if I'm not as interested in a character or storyline and I see it on both shows during the same week, I don't have as much fun watching it. I've watched the Rumble this year, Wrestlemania, and Money in the Bank this year (with Takeover New York and 25) and for the most part I had "fun," but I typically don't find myself having as much fun with watching each week. Then you take into account that most fans have been watching for some time and it's harder to get that same enjoyment out of it. You get burnt out and stepping away even temporarily is helpful.
