MVP's character is partly based off of a real person. He was a bouncer at a night club and a lot of athletes used to show up. Most of them were cool, but one particular athlete was a total dick and MVP almost had a major incident with him. It was none other than NBA basketball player Stephon Marbury. I know that MVP has mentioned in the past that his gimmick was a take-off based on rich athletes, but I never heard himever mention a specific name before-- until now. So now we all know exactly where MVP got the inspiration for his character.

Ye, read about this in PowerSlam. He also has said in the past he brought some rap characteristics into it, but he said it was a real athlete mainly. Interesting to hear that it was Marbury. Marbury has done MVP's career good lol

I could definitely see that. Marbury is pretty much MVP to a tee. There's something seriously wrong with Marbuy, but that is interesting to know. Maybe Marbury should find a good athlete to model his own career after.

^Actually Marbury is making a ridiculous amount of money playing basketball. But yes his shoes are only like 14 bucks.

Dont forget about the BIg Bens (Ben Wallaces shoe and Marburys side shoe).

Funny, I always though his character was based off of T.O.

I was expecting Pacman Jones, but yeah I could definately see the connection. Marbury seems like a great basketballer but he's got to step it up and let his talent shine and I think his ego stops that from happening. Definately similar.

Marbury owns his shoe company and he set the price to just under $15 bucks,. Marbury is a bit of a bitch though, he's one of the big expendible players in the NBA. He's a good player but everytime his third year comes round, he starts to complain, thus getting his ass traded.
