As seen on last night's SmackDown, new General Manager Teddy Long promised new RAW Superstar and WWE United States Champion MVP the chance to meet a good friend of his, Sherri Shepherd of ABC's hit talk show The View. It looks like WWE might have something planned for MVP and Sherri as the WWE website mentions Sherri having a thing for MVP and teases Teddy having something in store for MVP.

Furthermore, a friend of mine who happens to be a fan of The View, sent Sherri a tweet on Twitter after SmackDown last night and asked her if she was aware that her name was mentioned on SmackDown. Sherri replied with the following: "Yes... there's a surprise with me & the WWE!!! Stay tuned. I think you'll like it :O)"

A few other fans asked Sherri about WWE on Twitter and she replied with the following messages: "am I going to appear on Smackdown with MVP... LOL... mum's the word, but keep watching the WWE...never know who'll pop up!" and "I'm in love with me some MVP. I hope he said nice things about me."

It doesn't seem far fetched that WWE would reach out to a show like The View right now, one of the most watched shows by women on TV. We reported yesterday about WWE beginning a new company direction where they push the idea that several women help run the company and a good percentage of women make up the WWE audience. I'm not sure if Sherri would actually join WWE in a manager role for MVP or something but she may end up doing a few appearances. If anything it will definitely get the company a few mentions on The View which could bring in some more female viewers like they are wanting.

At least MVP will get pushed....right?

If you want to call that a push...

That's what I was thinking. This "push" seems closer to a burial to me. I read somewhere that the WWE was trying to get itself over with the government as some other form of entertainment than wrestling by saying it's run in part by mostly women and 40% of it's audience are women. This "View" storyline could get mentioned on the show and get women to watch is what I imagine they're planning with this.

MVP is just the one taking the fall so they can get the women thing going seems like a logical plan. They could have done this with a bunch of other guys though, I guess MVP isn't too high on WWE's superstar priority list right now.

It's not a burial. Come on, we haven't even seen this happen, or even a hint at it happening yet, and people are off to their bashing ways again. Why don't we see where the fuck it leads first? Also, even if it does happen, while I'll be mildly upset that it's not a main event push, I would never go as far to call someone being involved in a storyline a de-push or burial.

They could prove people wrong and it turns out to be a great storyline that advances MVP's career to new heights, but at this point it's fair to say it looks stupid and probably will turn into an MVP burial. WWE can come up with gold out of shit every once in awhile though, so there's a chance it could be a hot angle with somebody.

And as far as storylines not being a burial or de-push goes, just look at Katie Vick, Momma Benjamin, Losing Streak and probably more that basically de-railed their respective careers for that time being.

Yup, I guess we'll wait and see. I'm just hoping for the best.

you know what the best part of the story was? The fact that all of this is going to happen on Smackdown and MVP is a Raw superstar now after the draft confirming that the WWE really doesn't get brand seperation anymore.

I'm not being confrontational here, but I don't see it as that big of a deal, I really don't get why everyone else does. It's pretty simple/. WWE would've written the show weeks in advance, before thy knew exactly who was going where at the draft, so with short notice, they had to do the show the way they had it written. Also, the superstars like MVP, Triple H, and Big Show all would've been advertised for the show weeks in advance locally to the people who had bought tickets, so for WWE to pull them off of the show on no notice would be a dick move. If this happens again next week, I'll be equally pissed as everyone else (I srongly prefer brand seperation), but this week I didn't see it as a big deal.

I'm not talking about this week either though. Her twitter says that she will be appearing on Smackdown with MVP. The story line is that she is Teddy Long's friend who is hooking them up. I understand that Smackdown after the draft is going to still have some cross brand, but its pretty clear this story is continuing on Smackdown.

Also as for the advertised for the show weeks in advance to the local area, that always happens man, it doesnt mean they can't change it. Hense "Card & Talent Subject to change" disclaimer on all there advertising. The show I went to back in December was advertising the return of Umaga. He wasn't there. It advertised Triple H vs. Kozlov. Neither Triple H or Kozlov were there. It advertised The Hardy's in Tag action, they were both there but both in singles matches. If that was the rule then nothing would ever change.

Nice point, I didn't think of that. I really hope they change that then. Hopefully it takes place on Raw, and it just has Teddy "fix them up". Well see... Like i said though, I'll be the first guy to complain if they disfregard what just happened at the draft.

I knew what the View is, never seen it though. Apparently she's from it. Some fat black woman by the looks of it from google.

Here's Sherri Shepherd's wikipedia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sherri_Shepherd

MVP's being groomed to be the next fat chick thriller.

and if you've never seen the view it's basically like watching a bunch of hens in a chicken coop. If you've seen the family guy episode where Stewie's in a bubble and Brian watches The View to piss stewie off it's basically like that.
