Mustafa Ali's return to WWE TV has been discussed internally

Fightful Select has learned that as of this weekend a possible return to WWE television for Mustafa Ali was discussed. There was a pitch made for him to actually appear on WWE Raw Monday, though we can never be sure that something like that will actually happen until he appears on the air, due to the constant changes of the program.

Ali has not appeared on WWE programming since October, and had been booked to lose 11 consecutive matches across Raw, Smackdown and PPV. He was drafted to the Smackdown brand in the fall, but had an argument with Vince McMahon over his creative direction that led to him being off television, and not backstage for months. Ali voiced his frustration and publicly asked for his release in January after not being on TV for two months. It was reiterated to us at that point that despite the fact that he had a child, he asked for only one week off of television at that point and was willing to work.

I enjoy Ali as a heel and thought at least the idea behind retribution was alright obviously it fell flat but due to no fault of Ali who I thought cut some good promos on raw talk

Ali to possibly come back to do what exactly? Really like Ali but theirs nothing for him in WWE don't know realistically what will change if they bring him back onto TV. I rather see him out of WWE flying like a Bird to be honest.

I think that there has been an idea of adding him to Edge's group. Not sure of how possible that is but it's better than not being used. Mustafa to me has made the best of every situation that he has been in. Was interesting in the cruiserweight division, made the Hacker thing interesting and did as much as he could with the Retribution situation.

Put him with Mansoor and LA Knight.

Have him beat Roman Reigns in an open challenge. There's your super Mega babyface for the next several years.

If they had not given them corny nicknames and those ridiculous makeups/masks, Retribution could have been an average stable imo. Ali, Thorne and Dijak deserved better.
