Mumford & Wife: Carey Mulligan Marries Singer
Talk about your Hollywood ending: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Oscar nominated actress Carey Mulligan and Mumford & Sons singer Marcus Mumford were married over the weekend, putting the capper on one of the most unlikely real world romances in recent memory.
Hey, if they ever make a movie out of it, at least we know who the star will be.
It sounds too crazy to believe, but in true fairy tale fashion, Mulligan and Mumford first met as kids when the two became long distance pen pals. They then lost touch, only to find each other again thanks to the fact that they both managed to become internationally famous. Imagine waking up to see your childhood crush plastered on a billboard — or on the Billboard Top 100.
After dating for a few months, the couple became engaged last year. According to reports, the wedding ceremony was held on a farmstead in rural Somerset, England. The private gathering numbered around 100 guests, including Colin Firth, Jake Gyllenhaal and Sienna Miller.
Mulligan is next slated to appear in Baz Luhrman's adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel "The Great Gatsby." We're guessing even Fitzgerald couldn't have scripted a romance this amazing.
