POMPANO BEACH, Fla. -- Broward Sheriff's Office detectives have arrested a suspect in last month's shooting of a taxi cab driver in Pompano Beach.
Semie Robinson, 30, was arrested on an attempted murder charge in the Nov. 18 shooting of Williamson Joseph.
Detectives said Joseph picked up Robinson outside a Fort Lauderdale convenience store and drove him to Pompano Beach, where Robinson shot him after Joseph parked the cab.
Joseph was taken to North Broward Medical Center with gunshot wounds to the head and armpit. He survived.
Detectives said DNA evidence collected from a Mountain Dew bottle inside a cooler bag Robinson left in the cab linked him to the shooting. Detectives said they also collected Robinson's fingerprints from a baseball cap he left behind.
Authorities said Robinson had been on parole and has a history of committing violent crimes.
