The match has been removed from the line-up on WWE.com

And JR mentioned this on one of his blogs.

It looks as if the pending John Morrison vs. Dolph Ziggler IC Title bout will take place after Sunday's PPV at some point TBD. I have high expectations for this rivalry and feel that these two men can have a heck of a series going forward.

So there goes one of the matches I was actually looking forward to watching.

That's fucked up. These guys can't put on an incredible match but we got the amazing 8 second ECW title defense last PPV.

To be honest, the above kind of comment baffles me....

How would the absense of the 8 second Christian/Regal match make room for an incredible JoMo/Ziggler match (which I assume yourself and others, myself included, would like to see given a decent amount of time)?

You wanna bitch about (relatively) wasted PPV time... Kane v Khali????

Why do I get the horrible feeling that all the general good work they've done on SD this year will be 'un-done' by the end of the year thanks to:

*Rey's suspention and subsequent storyline re-writes.
*Edge's injury and subsequent storyline re-writes.
*Booking themselves into a corner with the Punk/Taker fued before it's even begun (in part thanks to the above 2).
*Insisting on trying to replace Jeff Hardy with Matt.
*...And yeah, no Morrison on PPV (I beleive the only time since WM being vs Shelton shortly after the draft.

^Yup...one match with Shelton. WWE insists they're trying to make new stars yet it's the same people starring and main eventing on every PPV. The same redundant and boring combinations over and over again.
I think Edge's injury helped Smackdown in a way TBH. He was becoming stale and really taking up a good deal of main event time. His departure gives some room for new guys to get in there. And also his return gives us something to look foward to...and a completely fresh and probably face Edge.

I think the tag run with Jericho, still leading to a face-turn and fued with Jericho, would have addressed the above issues just as well with the additional bonus of us not having to suffer a 3rd rate (yet admittedly appropriate for storyline purposes) replacement in Big Show.

True... who knows what the hell Big Slow would have been doing on RAW right now. Probably taking up space in the US title division.

However, we saw A LOT of Edge over the past few years and he pretty much made his way into every main event or title story line on Smackdown (i mean, deservedly so). I think giving people a chance to really miss him is going to be a really good thing. I have a feeling when he returns people are going to start looking at him as an even more solified main eventer than he already was.

this sucks that they can't have this match at BP.... it's bullshit if you ask me... two up-n-coming superstars in the business don't get their own match at a PPV, especially a title match that rarely gets shown on PPV anyways? Bad call by the WWE

My guess is that Dolph was supposed to win the title against Rey, but since Mysterio got suspended, and Morrison won the belt, WWE didn't want to do yet another switch so soon, nor did they want to have Ziggler lose yet another match for the IC title, so they decided to save it for a later date.

By the way, WWE should do a bonus tag match to include both Ziggler and Morrison on the PPV. Maybe do an interbrand match with Kofi/Morrison v Miz/Ziggler.

I don't see this as bad. If these two dont go to have a feud then yes, this is fucked up, but if they did this to save their encounter for Bragging Rights and give it a better build up, then by all means.

I still don't know why they gave the title to Morrison, they could have just had Ziggler beat the crap out of Rey which would get huge heat and put Rey out for a month, have them vacate the title from Rey since he's hurt and then have Morrison and Ziggler fight for the title at Breaking Point where Ziggler would win, the Morrison/Mysterio match may have been good but it was bad booking for Ziggler who now has to wait even longer to win his first title in WWE.

These two waiting for the next PPV probably gives Mysterio time to get back, maybe theyll end up adding him into the match to make a 3-way for the title which would be good but Rey would probably end up winning the Championship back :n:

I understand that they want to save this feud for proper build up and whatnot...but the fact that Ziggler won a match that specifically said he would get a title shot at BP ahead of everyone else and JoMo winning it before him makes this a booking blunder of Edge randomly coming back with Vickie after wheelchair-napping and cheating on her porportions. WWE booking.

Lol? Is this a joke?

yeah it was, lol. I forgot to add the smiley faces to make it look that way. :)

I thought it'd be funny to put the cliche'd "blame response" of the IWC in the thread. I've been guilty of it as well though.
