More NXT Superstars Have Dark Matches Before SmackDown

Karrion Kross, Scarlett, and Shotzi Blackheart worked dark matches prior to tonight’s SmackDown.

PWInsider reported that Kross defeated Slapjack, formerly of Retribution, while Blackheart defeated Scarlett. This would be the second match for Kross on the main roster this week, as he defeated Shelton Benjamin in a match that aired on WWE Main Event.

Scarlett was not at Kross’s side during the Main Event taping. It was reported at the time that she would have a dark match on her own during the SmackDown television tapings. Blackheart has been working in NXT since being signed in late 2019, and is a former NXT Women’s Tag Team champion with Ember Moon.

Bronson Reed has been another NXT talent that has working dark matches as of late on the main roster. Both he and Kross worked dark matches on last week’s SmackDown prior to the start of the show. On this week’s Main Event tapings, he defeated Drew Gulak.
