Some people within WWE believe that Jim Ross will be back working for them in time for WrestleMania XXX. Some also think he will still be used for interviews on DVD’s and projects like that.

One source noted that JR’s situation with WWE hadn’t been good since WrestleMania and it was just a matter of time until something happened that would be the catalyst towards WWE pulling the trigger, and the WWE 2K14 panel was just that. Triple H, who was JR’s boss while working with developmental, had known JR’s days were numbered as far as Vince McMahon was concerned, so Triple H used to help JR out as much as possible before the call was made.

It was noted that there’s always been an issue with Ross and Vince because JR speaks his mind to Vince when he thinks a direction is wrong. JR has tried to be political about it and not confrontational but Vince is used to people not questioning him.

Part of me just thinks this is classic Meltzer bs. I've read numerous reports that Vince actually likes it when people stand up to him and he tends to reward them.

I expect J.R. to be part of any wrestling organization in some form of support in the near future. Honestly, can't see him to far away form wrestling in general.

Man's been fired twice before this, so don't be surprised to see him back for special commentary on a match or two sometime in the future. Undertaker's retirement at Wrestlemania and Stone Cold's one comeback match (assuming he has one) are two matches I expect to see him back for.

I fully expect him to be back (especially for WM 30). And it's not anything new that Vince doesn't respect JR.
