ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Bernalillo County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Victoria Delgado, 21, after her 2 year-old son tested positive for meth.

According to court records, Delgado and her husband had gotten into a fight, so she was staying at her mother's home on Garcia Road in the North Valley. Her children, a 2 year-old boy and 9 month-old girl, were also staying at the home.

When the children's father picked up the toddler, he saw the boy was sick so he took him to Presbyterian Hospital. Workers there tested the boy for meth and it came back positive.

Deputies went to the home on Garcia Road. They didn't find Victoria Delgado, but they did find Leonard Lucero, 40. Deputies say they also found meth, a stolen car and a gun on the already convicted felon.

They then tracked Victoria Delgado down at another North Valley home on Tyler Street. They charged her with child abuse.

This is the third case in less than a week involving a parent accused of taking meth and abusing a child.

Last Thursday a father suspected of being high on meth, was arrested after deputies say he raped and killed his one month old daughter. Then Friday another woman was arrested. Police say she was on meth when she tried to stab her 8 year old son in the neck with a screwdriver.
