Miro update, ready to return but no current creative plans

Miro is reportedly "eager to return to the ring" but AEW has no creative plans for him to do so.

According to a report from Fightful Select, the 37-year-old is healthy but simply hasn't been factored into recent AEW storylines. He hasn't wrestled since All Out 2022 on September 4 when he teamed with Sting & Darby Allin and defeated the House of Black. It was just his fourth match in AEW over the last year.

Regarding his absence from the company over the past few months, it was noted that "creative simply hasn't been presented for him." There were plans for him to have conversations with the company regarding future creative plans but those meetings have yet to take place.

Tony Khan was asked about Miro and Andrade el Idolo's status with AEW during the post-Full Gear press conference on November 19.

“You’ve seen people take some sabbaticals, absences, breaks from AEW for various reasons and come back and get very involved and I think that’s still, for both of those guys, something that you could see,” Khan responded.

CJ Perry (fka Lana) also spoke about her husband's status with AEW during an appearance on Busted Open Radio in October.

"I mean, he wants to be champion so he's not going to be happy until he's champion," she said. "I'm just going to leave it at that."

"I have a lot of opinions about this. Tony Khan has a vision. At the end of the day, if it's 100% real, I think there's this illusion at AEW that the talent book the show. That was definitely the conversation, 'Oh you go there, you're going to basically become whatever you're made of' but at the end of the day, he's booking the show."

It's a shame especially bc he was probably a top 5 act for me in 2021, then started this year injured and filming that show but he's been ready since like June. I know why the HOB feud fizzled out but come on lol

I truly believe he could be a top act anywhere that tied.

Maybe let him go to Impact. There’s zero way he’s not main eventing with Josh Alexander within two months.

Minus the TNT title run, he’s had a very cold tenure.

Like mentioned above, maybe Impact is the best spot for him. Someone has to use him correctly eventually, right?

The thing with Impact is you have to genuinely wanna wrestle there bc they def won't be able to pay up what the others do so it's a trade off lol

That’s the main thing that sucks because every once in a blue moon they get this really talented and stacked roster and then within like five months half of it is gone.

Yeah, even AJ wouldn't have left back in the day if they weren't crazy cutting his pay. I believe he said he was even fine with a cut but they like more than halved his salary

yeah like when we were talkin in the dynamite thread earlier, he's really the only act now I have ZERO explanation as to why he's not on tv or used. it's baffling, hence why I'm wondering if he pissed someone off or smth? Like ok some of his angles gots kiboshed and he was hurt at one point but like, really you can't have him even squash some jobbers or fuck idk feud with jay lethal since he feuds with everyone

The only thing I can think about (and it's not a good reason if so) is he's like basically demanding a title feud or nothing.....but the reason that doesn't work is cause TK can still just book him outside of Title feuds anyway and if he walks out or whatever that's on Miro lmao

I think the issue (and it's been a minor one with others) is TK doesn't know how to book people that he doesn't want to lose but also doesn't want in the title picture at the moment bc he doesn't want them just losing to other title challengers on TV. In most cases that's just regulated people to Dark wins for a few weeks tho and I don't really mind that cycle
