I don't watch SD very often, with it being on a Friday night and all, but I'm pretty sure the same applies to them too.
I remember back in 2005, almost every week there was some form of talk show. Raw had the Highlight Reel, SD had Carlito's Cabana, Raw also had the Cutting Edge.. We also had Stiker's classroom from time to time. I thought these were great. So often now, main event feuds are played out the same on a show to show basis. Guy comes out, cuts a promo, gets interuptted, the bicker, and then the promo ends. Mini Shows like Carlito's Cabana, or teh Highlight Reel, did two things. It would allow he host to be involved in a feud, if say someone can on his mini show and disrespected him. It would also allow feuds to happen that don't involve the host, such as a guy calling out another guy on the show. I just think with Jericho, Edge, Carlito, MVP and even a guy like Kennedy, they could utilise them more to do some of these segments. I realise Edge hosts a Cutiting Ege segment once in a while, but that's on SD, and still only happens once every 4 or 5 months. On raw, they never happen. I think gradulally bringing some of these mini shows back in could help the product, thoughts?

Another thing is mini competitions. I remember stuff like the Kurt Angle invitational, where guys had a quick match for his Olympic Medal every couple weeks, or the Masterlock Challenge, or the White Boy Challenge, all those were a good way of getting guys over. Both the guys hosting the "challenge" and the guys competing in them.
Thoughts?

I think it could help the product however i don't mind these series being once a month. As you mentioned there is the cutting edge but that doesn't happen very often. We still see the MVP lounge here and there, and there is also the Dirt Sheet, which i would think will continue with either Miz or Morrison. Also the highlight reel. So they do have these segments, just not on a weekly basis. I do think they could use them more, but not weekly. They are also using the webshows more, like Dirt sheet, and Santino's Casa which is good. I think those have replaced the weekly segments slightly.

As far as the challenges, i do agree there should be more, but its hard to keep thinking of new challenges. The last i really enjoyed was the masterlock challenge, where the finish wasn't so good for Chris Masters, but still entertaining.

See, the web-shows things is a cool idea, but the problem is, how many people are gonna go out of their way to sit down and watch a WWE segment on WWE.com? If they wanna do those, they should air clips of them on the shows. Like, instead of the WWE Rewind and stuff (where they show 2 or 3 minute highlights from the last week) they should take 3 minutes out of the show to show stuff like the Dirt Sheet or Santino's Casa, or Word up. Anyway, ya, liek I said, these segments shouldn't be all the time, like you said, but I'd like to see them more frequently. I'd also like to see more of them, and not just the Cutting Edge. I'd like to see more VIP Loung, I'd like to see the Highlight Reel brought back, and I'd liek to see Carlito's Cabana as well.

I always wondered why something like the Dirt Sheet was done off air. I think something like that could have done so much to add to their heat and characters. It's incredible sometimes the things WWE chooses to omit and include on TV.

^^^Yeah, like Kid Rock > their unified tag titles. (Sorry!)

I think the brief answer, as already stated, is that we're seeing them appear on the web instead, BUT IMO it's nowhere near as effective as they aren't woven into the rest of the product...

I am/was a big fan of both Mizzorrison & Santino, but I've never ONCE logged onto WWE.com to watch DirtSheet or Santino's casa... I'm sure I'm not alone here.

@ Montana: MVP's VIP Lounge got repo'd during the losing streak along with his bling... Hasn't been on since.

The DirtSheet and casa are the only two reasons i did log onto wwe.com, and the DS was always really amusing and seemed to work live when they did it a few times, can't understand why it wouldn't have been used more often. I think the miz may carry it on if he can get a slot on raw inbetween all those other promos, as he was more of a goof than morrison.

@ Montana too: The highlight reel died with jericho's Y2J persona, however, it could come back with captain charisma, iirc he used to host it sometimes before leaving for tna?

March 24, 2009--ECW on Sci-Fi: MVP hosted a VIP Lounge with all of the participants of the Money in the Bank Ladder Match..

I thought they did one, with his WM legends, but i guess Jericho hosted a piper pit or something. None the less, Jericho does a promo, pretty much every show.

^LOL Yup....apparently the US Title comes with some crazy cash bonus.

I was thinking the same thing. I think if either of them are going to carry it over it would be Miz. It would probably do a lot for him over on RAW and give him a chance to showcase his mic skills.
