In a news-filled Tuesday night, former WEC Bantamweight Champion Miguel Torres announced on his website that he was cut from the UFC and has already found a new home with Titan Fighting Championships, set to debut on 11/2 in Hammond, Indiana.

In the brief post, Torres (40-5) said:

"I am writing this letter to inform you that as a result of my last loss, I was cut from the UFC. My next fight will be in Hammond, Indiana for Titan Fighting Championship on November the 2nd. I am excited to continue fighting, to regain my focus and to get back to what made me a champion. A special thank you to my manager, Glenn Robinson, my trainer, Firas Zahabi, my training partners, and all the staff at the UFC. I have dedicated my whole life to mixed martial arts and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. From teaching, to training, and fighting from the lowest to the highest levels, my passion in life is to be the best that I can be. Until November 2nd…"

The 31-year-old was last seen getting knocked out by rising prospect Michael McDonald in late April. After moving to the UFC, Torres was never able to recapture the magic from his WEC days that saw him regarded as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world. He was released from Zuffa in early December after making a rape joke on Twitter, later rehired that month when UFC president Dana White had a chance of heart.

Torres wraps his UFC run at 2-2.

I'm Not totally surprised by this. He used to be an awesome fighter back in WEC, but he just wasn't impressive at all in the UFC in his 4 fights.

Yeah I was always expecting him to really do somethin when he was in the UFC and he was just... average at best. Maybe he'll find himself in Titan.

Took a long time to cut him though.....

It's still a loss, IMO, not as if the feather and bantam divisions can afford to lose fighters like this.
