AEW's Blackpool Combat Club could have looked slightly different had it not been for Chris Jericho.

In this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer wrote that there was talk of Garcia joining the faction at one point after Bryan Danielson first mentioned the possibility of a superteam with Jon Moxley.

During that Dynamite promo, Danielson also mentioned Wheeler Yuta and Lee Moriarty. Yuta was inducted following his loss to Moxley on the April 8th Rampage while Moriarty is still aligned with Matt Sydal.

Meltzer said that "Chris Jericho personally picked Garcia to join the Jericho Appreciation Society," negating his inclusion in the BCC.

Jericho's new group was formed in the weeks following Revolution as part of the dissolvement of the Inner Circle with Santana, Ortiz, Jake Hager and Sammy Guevara. Hager came with him, along with Garcia and the former 2point0 with the faction focusing on being sports entertainers vs. pro wrestlers.

Garcia was signed to a full-time deal in October 2021.
