Following a story.

Floyd Mayweather stopped Victor Ortiz in brutal and controversial fashion last night in the fourth round of their mega-bout. Naturally Manny Pacquiao, the other superstar boxer in the world, a man who's been trying to coax Mayweather into the ring for the past 18 months, had to comment on the fight.

Pacquiao told Philboxing that "(Mayweather's final punch), was, to say the least, unsportsmanlike."

Pacquiao advisor Michael Koncz elaborated, ""No, Mayweather should not be faulted for what happened," Pacquiao's Canadian adviser Michael Koncz quoted the pound-for-pound king as saying. "Manny thinks it was the young Ortiz's immaturity and lack of experience that did him in."

The chorus of voices demanding a rematch of Mayweather vs. Ortiz has to have the Pacquiao camp concerned that they will have to wait even longer for a mega-mega-mega-bout with Mayweather.

Our own Brent Brookhouse is leading the charge:

There's now a storyline for the rematch and it's a fight that I want to see finished in a clean way. Could Floyd have held up to twelve full rounds of body work and a much stronger man? Were his right hand leads and jab going to continue to eat away at the younger, bigger man?

The story of the fight also lends itself to huge pay-per-view numbers. Honestly, a rematch has a shot at being a bigger fight if promoted correctly than any other in boxing history in terms of pay-per-view buys.

For one of the few times in boxing, we can all put aside the demand for Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and just get excited for Mayweather and Ortiz to lace 'em up a second time.

Dana White tweeted his disapproval of both fighters' behavior and especially the refereeing:

@danawhite
Dana White
Was that NUTS or what!?!? Dirty from both fighters and the most HORRIBLE refereeing I have EVER seen in boxing or anywhere else!
