By the time September rolls around, it will have been two years since we last saw former UFC welterweight champion Matt Serra compete inside the Octagon. That, however, doesn't mean Serra is retired.
"I'm going to say if I have to lean one way, I'm definitely going to say you're going to see me again in the UFC," said Serra, while appearing on The MMA Hour recently. "I really got no answers for you as far as when and who and all that kind of stuff but eventually."
Serra currently has an interest in the upcoming finals of The Ultimate Fighter: Live tournament, as his pupil, Al Iaquinta, is set to meet Michael Chiesa this Friday night for the crown.
He hasn't been relevant in years, but I'm a fan of him. So even if it was a one and done I'd be alright with him fighting once more.
Seems like a hell of a lot longer than Two years since he's fought in the UFC though, i barely remember the fight but it was at UFC 119 against Chris Lytle.
