Matt “The Law†Lindland has had to withdraw from a March 19 scheduled bout against Mamed Khalidov at KSW 15 in Warsaw, Poland.
The 2000 Olympic silver-medalist injured his hand while sparring, and while it is not fractured, he does “suffer from a sprain and strain of the 3rd digit in the Proximal interphalangeal joint, along with general joint de-arrangement,†according to signed doctor’s letter that KSW forwarded to ProMMAnow.com (www.prommanow.com) on Monday.
The doctor’s letter also states that Lindland should be able to compete again after May 21, 2011.
Lindland (22-8) has not fought since suffering a brutal first round knockout against Robbie Lawler at “Strikeforce: Henderson vs. Babalu 2
