- Mike Mooneyham of The Charleston Post & Courier reports that Ric Flair learned last night he will have to undergo surgery next week for a torn left triceps, after suffering the injury in the recent Impact Wrestling match against Sting.
Flair, who was originally told the injury was limited to a broken bursa sac, told Mooneyham: “I thought it was getting better but the swelling just wouldn’t go away. When I threw Tuesday (at the Red Sox game), the arm blew up to about twice the size of the other arm. It’s all black and blue. I’ve never torn anything in my life except my rotator cuff. I just landed on it wrong. And that just comes from not working enough. But it’s no big deal. It could have been a thousand other worse things.”
- Matches for tonight’s TNA Impact Wrestling on Spike TV include Mickie James vs. Brooke Tessmacher, Jesse Sorensen vs. Austin Aries for the X Division Title and James Storm vs. World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle in a non-title match.
