Manny Gamburyan vs. Nik Lentz added to UFC Fight Night in Cincinnati
The UFC’s return to Ohio continues to take shape with the addition of a new featherweight bout.
Manny Gamburyan (13-8 MMA, 4-6 UFC) and Nik Lentz (24-6-2 MMA, 8-3-1 UFC) have verbally agreed to meet at the UFC’s recently announced Fight Night event in Cincinnati in May. UFC officials brought news of the new booking on Thursday afternoon. Both fighters will be looking to rebound from recent setbacks.
The card takes place May 10 at Cincinnati’s U.S. Bank Arena. The main card is expected to air on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on UFC Fight Pass.
Gamburyan in December dropped a unanimous decision to Dennis Siver at UFC 168 in Las Vegas. That loss snapped a two-fight winning streak that saw him take decisions from Michihiro Omigawa and Cole Miller. The training partner of UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey is a little more than three years removed from fighting Jose Aldo for the bantamweight title when the two were in the WEC.
Lentz in December dropped a unanimous decision to Chad Mendes at UFC on FOX 9 in Sacramento. That broke a three-fight winning streak for him and was his first loss since dropping down to the featherweight division from lightweight. Before the loss, he had wins over Eiji Mitsuoka, Diego Nunes and Hacran Dias in the weight class.
With the addition, the latest UFC Fight Night in Cincinnati card now includes:
Ed Herman vs. Rafael Natal
Soa Palelei vs. Ruan Potts
Justin Salas vs. Ben Wall
Manny Gamburyan vs. Nik Lentz
