Ahmedabad: The 82-year old Prahlad Jani claims he has lived without food or water for the last 65 years. Jani's incredible story has prompted a team of scientists to do a study on him. The team comprises top doctors from the Defence Institute of Physiology and Allied Sciences (DIPAS)

"If we understand this phenomenon, we can work out strategies to tell people how to survive without food and water," said Director DIPAS Dr G Ilavazhagam.

Prahlad Jani, who is also called Mataji, says he survives on energy that he is able to generate within himself. The team of 35 doctors has so far found no rational or scientific explanation. But they do have admitted that they are puzzled.

"He is able to generate urine in his bladder. And at his will, he is able to re-circulate in his body. This is exceptional in the medical world,â€￾ said Dr Sudhair Shah

"It certainly makes us intrigued that the yogic ‘Kriyas’ that he does apparently can help us to control our physiological functions," Director Shristi Professor Anil Gupta.

The institute is keen on unlocking the mystery because, if true, it could help soldiers survive in hostile environments. But most scientists may tend to take this study with a pinch of salt.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Holy fucking shit, that's crazy. If true, it can be helpful as fuck if people learn how to do it.
But I doubt its true.. although, they're testing him if he can survive without food for periods of time and its working good so far.

Bullshit or not?

Bullshit. Simply put, how can you trust anything that far-fetched from an 85-year-old man? Probably has Alzheimer's.

Give me a fuckin break. Let's give the guy some psychiatric tests before we start studying his body.

Even if it were possible in a realm of thought not credible in the world of science, it isn't something you can simply study and tap into for soldiers and third world commoners to learn. If you even give credence to the mere possibility that this man can live without food or water, he would have to be on a completely different level of physical, spiritual & mental awareness and control similar to techniques of "Mind Over Matter" except taken to a whole new extreme.

So even if this is true, this man is certainly one of a kind, and his techniques should never be actually tested for military use as men and women could starve trying to achieve this level of control over their bodies.
