PITTSBURGH -- Police in Pittsburgh are hunting for two intruders who broke into a home early Tuesday morning and violently attacked the people inside.
Channel 4 Action News' Amber Nicotra reported that police said a man was playing a game on an Xbox on Arch Street in the California Kirkbride section of the North Side around 2 a.m.
Police said that while the man was playing the game, he heard the back door of the home being kicked in and two people wearing half-masks broke into the home.
Nicotra reported that the man, who was playing the game online, informed the person who he was playing against of the situation and asked them to call 911.
Police said the intruders pistol-whipped the man before moving upstairs, where an 11-year-old girl was sleeping.
The intruders left the child alone but did find a woman who was trying to call for help, police said. The intruders threatened the woman with a gun and stopped the call before eventually leaving with some cash, Nicotra reported.
Police, alerted by the 911 call from the game player, then arrived at the scene.
The man who was attacked was taken to Allegheny General Hospital and later released.
So far, no arrests have been made.
