Sting signed...
http://www.wrestling101.com/home/2014/04/sting-signs-wwe/
(From Wreslting 101)
After months of speculation on the future of former WCW and former TNA star Sting (Steve Borden), F4WOnline.com is reporting that the 55-year old legend has officially signed a WWE contract for the first time in his near thirty year career. While Sting has gone on record as saying he wants to have his final match in the WWE, even hinting at a match at next year’s WrestleMania at a recent appearance, but there are reports stating that, given his age, Sting may be used as an on-screen authority figure, similar to how Hulk Hogan has been used since his return to the company as Sting’s contract is reportedly not a Legends contract, but the contract is for an on-screen role. The former WCW World Heavyweight Champion is the only major name in professional wrestling to have never worked for the WWE in his legendary career. After WCW was bought out by the WWE in 2001, Sting refused to sign with the then WWF, saying that he didn’t trust Vince McMahon to know what to do with the Sting character and took issue with how the former WCW stars (namely Booker T) were treated as newcomers to the wrestling business. Sting would opt to let his existing contract with AOL/Time Warner expire.

Sting would return to the wrestling world in 2002, working for the World Wrestling All-Stars promotion until 2003, when he signed up for a handful of appearances with TNA. What started out as a contract to make sporadic appearances for TNA turned out to be an eleven-year stay with the promotion that saw Sting rack up four reigns as TNA World Heavyweight Champion, a reign as NWA World Heavyweight Champion (during the time that NWA had a working deal with TNA), and was even bestowed the honor of being the inaugural inductee into the TNA Hall of Fame. Sting made his final TNA appearance on January 23, losing to Magnus in a Title vs. Career Match that saw Sting’s contract terminated. In reality, Sting’s contract expired in February as TNA would later confirm Sting’s departure.

Not interested on Sting vs. Taker, especially as it wouldn't involve The Streak. Authority figure? Lol I look forward to his backstage shenanigans with Hornswoggle and Vickie, etc.

^ What are you talking about? The fact that there is no streak makes it less predictable now.

Every other dirt sheet has said he has signed for the past month. Not believing it until I see a real confirmation. Not speculation.

It's not official yet...

In regards to reports of Sting finally signing a deal with WWE, word is that WWE sent Sting his contract several days ago but as of yesterday, he had not returned it.

The belief is both sides were on terms and an agreement is in place but as of yesterday, pen to paper on Sting's side had not been returned to WWE.

There is no indication of any serious hold-up, at least from the WWE side. Those in the company even before WrestleMania XXX were working with the impression that he was on board.

Guess this answers the question "who's gonna be replacing Vickie on Smackdown?".
