At tonight's TNA iMPACT! tapings, TNA officials informed the live crowd at the iMPACT! Zone that the Barbed Wire Massacre match between Abyss and Judas Mesias that was supposed to take place at the Against All Odds PPV will now take place at tomorrow night's iMPACT! tapings. The match will air on Pay-Per-View as if it were live. The reason TNA is taping a PPV match in advance is because the South Carolina State Athletic Commission went back on their approval for TNA to hold a barbed wire match in their state. Since TNA is focusing all of their promotional material on the barbed wire match, they couldn't cancel it and instead went with this creative solution.

Gay, so it will still be on the PPV, just not live? I'm kinda confused

It won't be actually AIRING on Thursday night, right? If that's the case, I guess it won't hurt TNA too much, as long as they start really promoting their other matches. Carolina, however, just spat in the face of the entire professional wrestling industry and i'll be surprised if any promotion decides to go there anytime soon.

It will be like how WCW pretaped the match between the Blacktop Bully & Dustin Rhodes for the first Uncensored PPV a couple days before the PPV. The match still aired on the PPV as if it was live. The difference is, for that match it was in the back of a semi on the roads and the only thing that made you realize it was taped was because where they were they had already shown that it was dark out yet it was daylight during the match. (which was aparently the reason for the pre-tape as they figured it wouldn't look good in the dark) In this case the difference arena and different fans in the crowd would be a big tip off I supose.

Wow, that ruins the PPV by alot. I was looking forward to seeing it with the thousands of fans chanting "holy shit" and stuff...whatever, it isnt TNA's fault

That sucks, but at least the match is still on

They need to amp up one of the other matches though, to boost ticket sales. Maybe add thumbtacks and other fun stuff to the Angle/Christian match. That is, if South Carolina will allow entertainment in their BI-LO Center. -.-

^ I know, this is so Blue. Its a fucking wrestling show, ofcourse their is going to be some violence! I think TNA is going to step up the main event so that people still come. This isn't going to do anything good for ticket sales either, which werent doing that well to begin with. I think this is the perfect time to add Joe to the main event to generate a little more interest so the fans still come. My question is, are they still going to show the match to the fans in attendance? If not, what are they going to do while the match is shown to the people at home?

the thing thats going to give it away is that this match will be taped in the impact zone, and AAO will be in carolina. so the arenas will look completely different. they will show the match on the tron for the crowd to watch

there problem isn't with the violence its the excessive violence. Barbwire tends to rip and tear skin. Its would be like UFC saying that Ortiz & Liddel are going to have a knife fight, its excessive and really not nessisary...but its a gimmick and wrestling has always had gimmick matches. Where as wrestling and even most gimmicks can be done safely, barb wire is a little tricky to say "oh yeah don't worry no one will get seriously hurt"
