Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold recently made a successful title defense by besting Tim Kennedy at Strikeforce: Rockhold Vs. Kennedy. With UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva sitting comfortably atop the 185-pound rankings, Rockhold would like nothing more than his shot at "The Spider."
"I would take a pay cut (to fight Silva)," said Rockhold, during an interview with FightHub TV. "You only life once, (and) I live to fight the best. Anderson Silva is hands down the best in the world and to fight him in his prime would be a dream come true."

Rockhold won the Strikeforce title by topping Ronaldo Souza last year. He stopped Keith Jardine in his first defense before taking a decision from Kennedy. Silva, meanwhile, bested Chael Sonnen via second round TKO in his most recent Octagon appearance.

"I'm not scared of anybody," Rockhold said. "I want those fights."

I don't know about this, i can't picture it ever happening really. By the time Rockhold ends up in the UFC which is the only way this fight would ever actually happen, Silva will likely be retired.

There's a slot of Talent in Strikefroce, but they're going to be stuck their for life because of Showtime.

Is he really that willing to lose? Cause that is what is gonna happen if he gets in the fight against Silva.

In other news, anybody who wins in the Middleweight division thinks they can get a title shot against Anderson by calling him out.

Sonnen did it first and did it best. Fucking cloners.

They gotta realize they need charisma... not just... Hey I want in the UFC and I want a title shot.

Follow Sonnen's example. Make it entertaining.

Nobody can do it like Sonnen.

It's like how everyone started sounding like The Rock after 98.

Then I guess they have to do it the old fashioned way... win fights.

Rockhold should focus on being a good champion for SF. I understand people wanna fight the best, but you have to earn it.

So i was just reading that Silva wants the fight with Rockhold because he's more well known and thinks it would be a good fight. Nothing is likely to happen from it, but it's worth keeping an eye on.

Ruckhold well known?

You want to draw buyrates Anderson? Fight Bisping or Stann. This is like Lombard having a big name, only the hardcores know who they are.

Rockhold should clear out his division first before he tries to book a fight with Silva. Silva needs to fight Bisping next anyway, surely Bisping is next in line if he beats Stann.

Boetsch hasn't been lighting the world on fire with his wins though.

One UD in his MW debut, and a bad fight with Lombard. The only highlight he has is with Okami and he was getting lit up the whole fight before he caught Okami looking at feet instead of fists.

Yeah true... but I'd still pit him instead of Bisping cause Timmy at least won his fights.
