Luke Rockhold is the latest top fighter to be hit by the injury bug.

The Strikeforce middleweight champion has pulled out of his upcoming fight against Lorenz Larkin because of a wrist injury, sources close to the event told MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani.

Rockhold becomes the second big name to drop off the card scheduled for Nov. 3 in Oklahoma City, Okla. Frank Mir dropped out of his anticipated fight against Daniel Cormier because of an injury last month.

It honestly seems as if they're going to just cancel this show also, which would explain why they have yet to name an opponent for Cormier at this event.

If that's the case, and they end up cancelling this show as well, does that spell the end for the promotion?

Well there was Matt that decided to decline the offer of being owned. So yeah I think the show is gonna get cancelled. Not really much they can offer which means Cormier is gonna be stuck in Strikeforce.

We can only hope, just unify everything like PRIDE.

Melendez/Bendo
Cormier/JDS
Marquardt/GSP, Rockhold/Anderson (lol, no)
Rousey/Cyborg

As for Rockhold, I didn't even know this event existed, which tells you all you need to know.

The only fight I knew about was the Mir fight. I didn't know what other fights were on the card. So I was like... ohhh... well that sucks.

Rumours swirling re: plug being pulled on Strikeforce. No confirmation yet. But if it's true, it was Showtimes call. They hold option for 2013.

Tons of rumours floating around about it's demise.

Well their heavyweight division was pretty much cleaned out minus Barnett and Cormier. The other divisions... other than the women's wasn't getting anywhere really. It only seems right for it to close if it is to close. I think Showtime would cut its costs and just say bye bye to it.
