Part 2 of my thread series. People complain about the Invasion Storyline when Vince bought out WCW in 2001, all the time. So I thought well why not book it your way and show us how you could make it better?

I'll post my answer later.

The most common reason and the reason I agree with that it gets bitched about is because they were missing important names. There was no Sting, no Hogan, no Goldberg, etc. Had they had those guys it would have been the biggest thing to ever happen in pro wrestling history. So many dream matches could have happened at that time and everything but instead it was pretty watered down. Also the ECW guys were very watered down apart from RVD who was allowed to shine. Everyone else was just there on the ECW side of it.

One thing that i thought would've made the storyline better was if ECW and WCW didn't join together, i think it would've made for more intresting storylines if it was WWF VS ECW vs WCW, i thought that the Survivor Series match was great in 2001, but what could have made it better is if it was all three companies batteling eachother for the number one spot, obviously WWF wouldve won but, to somebody who didn't know much of what was going on, and actually thought that WCW and ECW could put WWF out of business it might have made the storyline more intresting for him/her. I mean i was 8 years old at the time and if i didn't have a father who knew exactly what was going on, and would explain it i probably would've thought what i was watching was real, and that the WWF could end up going out of business.

I thought Austin joining the Alliance was genious, the most popular WWF star turning his back on the company that made him into a superstar, it was really compelling stuff back then. Thats one of the things that i would do the same if i was in charge of this storyline back in 2001.

I would've had another popular WWF superstar join the alliance with austin i know Kurt Angle joined it but i didn't like that idea at all, maybe a Chris Jericho, i think that he wouldve brought alot to it, seeing as he was in both WCW and ECW.

Agreed about how it should have been WCW vs WWF vs ECW. WCW and ECW joining together in reality was pretty stupid since WCW was like the devil to ECW and WWF was actually helping ECW. Just goes into what I was saying about how ECW really got underminded in the whole thing.

Diamond Dallas Page
Ric Flair
Chuck Palumbo
Jeff Jarrett
Sean O' Haire
Mark Jindrak

Rob Van Dam
Raven
Taz
Saturn
Tommy Dreamer
Raven
Stevie Richards
Blue Meanie
Hollywood Nova
Mike Awesome
Lance Storm
Justin Credible
Bubba Ray
D-Von
Rhyno
Hardy Boyz (They can go to ECW since there nickname is Team Extreme)
Spike Dudley

WWE
The Rock
Kurt Angle

X-Pac
Kane
Undertaker
Big Show

Yeah, but that would have downplayed how instrumental RVD was for the group if you put over two WWE Superstars in favor of him just because of their ECW roots.

Well if you were rebooking it wouldn't you want to look more towards the future than the past?

RVD was the best star to rise from the ECW side of things. I think making him look like one of the strongest links for them would have only helped the angle and his continue growth for the next few years. I guess if you want already established stars for what would probably be considered the underdog of all the three brands you can have Austin and Foley work just fine though.

Edit: Board was reacting odd as I was typing this.

If you ask me, it seemed like RVD didn't do much anyway though. He was Hardcore champion. That was about it.
I could be wrong but I swear that there was several instances throughout the angle that Vince was seen trying to get RVD onto Team WWF so that to me made him somewhat of a big deal. Anyway through the out the whole angle, I was pretty much a casual fan and I seemed to love the whole thing, although in hindsight probably the biggest downfall was covered by PHX and that was the WCW side of things lacking some big names.
