WWE SmackDown ratings down, ranks first on TV in 18-49 demo
The episode was SmackDown's go-home show for SummerSlam.
Friday's SummerSlam go-home episode of WWE SmackDown
averaged 2.193 million viewers on Fox, down 2.8 percent from the previous week. It was still the second-best viewership for the show since June 24.
Friday's SmackDown led all of television with a 0.52 rating in the 18-49 demo, down 16.1 percent from the prior week. SmackDown also led all of TV with a 0.33 rating in 18-34, which was more than double the next highest rated English-language program.
The previous week's SmackDown had increased interest due to taking place on the same day that Vince McMahon announced his retirement.
As compared with the same week in 2021, SmackDown was up 7.3 percent in overall viewers but down 8.8 percent in 18-49. It's the sixth time in the last seven weeks that SmackDown's total audience was up year-over-year.
Listed below are the last 11 weeks of overall viewership and 18-49 demo ratings for SmackDown, along with the 10-week averages in both categories. This week's show was up 4.5 percent in viewers and up four percent in 18-49 as compared with the recent averages.
Friday night’s WWE SmackDown episode averaged 2.05 million viewers on Fox, down nine percent from the previous week.
