Live NXT March 7th 2023 Discussion Thread: ROADBLOCK

Tuesday night's Roadblock edition of WWE NXT averaged 624,000 viewers on the USA Network, up 12.4 percent from last week. It's the second-highest audience total for the show since January's New Year's Evil special episode.

NXT finished 13th on the cable charts with a 0.17 rating in the 18-49 demo. That's up 30.8 percent from last week and matches NXT's best rating in that category since October 18.

NXT's ratings were up from last week in all categories. The biggest increase was with females 12-34, which were up 60 percent. The best demo for NXT, people over 50, was only up 3.2 percent or the overall audience growth would have been much more.

As compared to the same week in 2022, NXT was up 1.8 percent in overall viewers and up 30.8 percent in 18-49.

Listed below are the last 11 weeks of overall viewership and individual demo ratings for NXT, along with the 10-week averages in all categories. This week's show was up 2.6 percent in overall viewers and up 21.4 percent in 18-49 as compared to the recent averages.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer spoked about Roxanne Perez's situation. He revealed that there is actually something going on with Roxanne Perez, but it isn’t 100% clear how bad the situation is right now.

The reason it’s so vague is because the actual situation is so vague. They actually don’t know exactly what’s going on. So, until they do, they kinda have to go in there thinking that they might have to strip her of the title. So, there’s a lot of things going on.

What I was told was that this is a vague situation in the sense that hopefully there’s nothing wrong, but there might be. She didn’t actually faint after the match, but that was a cover story for the fact that something may or may not be going on. They don’t know exactly, so they did the Shawn Michaels angle.​

Just say you don't know what's going on, it's shit like this that gets him memed on.

It'd be very irresponsible to have her work that match with Meiko if something was actually wrong, can't see it being your usual fake injury to cover for actual injury just on that basis alone. Unless you're Cody they don't really let people work hurt anymore

Best theory I saw so far was that they wanted to give her a crowning moment after they way they had to rush the belt onto her because of the Mandy situation.

I guess they could have still done that without the worked injury angle but that just adds another layer to it I suppose?

I don't exactly remember it happening like this myself bc I think I was a newborn but apparently people weren't really buying HBK as a babyface until they did the collapse angle and then he returned as top babyface so could be trying to recreate that

Again if she's actually injured no way they let her come back in a ladder match either so we'll see lol
