Lita reportedly had talks with AEW

As WWE Hall of Famer Lita prepares to make her return at this year's Royal Rumble, she reportedly had past talks with AEW that included a pitch for a program with Britt Baker.

Fightful reported that AEW and Lita had discussions as far as back as 2019, but both sides were unable to come to an agreement.

The talks didn't stop there as the report said there was a pitch as recently as last year for a program with the AEW Women's Champion to happen around last September's All Out.

After being done with WWE in 2006 and an indie appearance in April 2007, Lita stayed away from the ring until she returned on the 1000th Raw for a match with Heath Slater.

She then left for another five years before another indie match in 2017 followed by three WWE appearances in 2018 that included the Royal Rumble and the all-women's Evolution pay-per-view.

1. She's 46 and hasn't actually wrestled a full on match (outside the Royal Rumble) since 2007 (aside from that whacky indy match in 2017).

2. I wouldn't know if she'd necessarily be a good fit for the roster tbh. She'd be good for a few nostalgia act matches here and there but personally I don't think she meshes with any of the other women.

3. She's pretty much better off staying in WWE for the most part as a trainer. I know that contracts aren't exactly guaranteed anymore but she also is a hall of famer and a very good representative for the company as an ambassador.

I just don't think overall it would have been very good for her to join AEW with those conditions upon her.

2. I mean I guess, but it’s really no way of knowing without seeing it first. Maybe I’m just bias being a huge Lita fan (all time favorite female) but I think she could’ve done good

3. I can see 50/50 with this, and kinda understand what you mean. I just don’t think anyone should be signing anything with WWE but with the deal she probably get it probably not have any non complete clause or anything. Not that it matters for her but I wouldn’t sign a damn thing with them unless it wasn’t included,

I actually agree w barry that I'm not sure what she brings to aew other than a rating booster. I like Lita though but I think special attraction in wwe is a good role for her. That being said u know tk wanted to reunite Lita n Matt Jeff lol

Edge and Orton used AEW as a motivator to force Vince’s hand, so good for Lita.
