Touchy subject ahead.

Now everybody has an opinion this much is obvious. But let me ask you a few questions. Do you feel that all opinions are worth something?

For example when someone says something mindbogglingly stupid like for hyperbole's sake "The sky is green" and you just look at them like they sharted their pants and tell them that they are wrong and they fire back with "well it is my opinion and I am entitled to my opinion" (raarr, snort, flail arms)

Don't you ever just feel like telling them that of course they have their opinions and are of course entitled to them but they are fucking stupid?

I don't understand where people got this sense of entitlement from where they believe that just because they have an opinion that their opinion must be valid in some way, shape or form.

Also for additional thread legs discuss blatantly stupid opinions that you have been subjected to.

Most people confuse their own opinion with popular fact.. It's ok to say you think religion is a sham. When you run people down for believing in it, now you're deluding yourself into some bizzare sense of self-righteousness.

I work with inmates. Murderers, rapists, embezzlers, you name it. The state pays for their health care. It has to or else it would go against the 8th amendment protecting against cruel and unusual punishment. Well, I've heard many a convict complain about the long waits and say "They don't even know what they're doing"!! You want to slap them in the face and say "IT'S FUCKING FREE ASSHOLE".

You cant suppress opinions but it sure would be nice sometimes.

him: ''imo all that Ac Milan needs is money''
me:'' yea, look at Real Madrid, 250 mil wasted, and they got nothing''
him:''money isn't everything you need a project''
me:''thank you for contradicting yourself''
him:'' no I didn't, you did''

plz, people, stop thinking.

Egads. My opinions cannot be found in my signature anymore. They can be found in my name.

There is a huge difference between opinion and fact. Some things are so obviously true that no one can have an opinion. If my jacket is brown and someone says it's black, that's not a fucking opinion. An opinion is neither right or wrong. My jacket being brown would be RIGHT while someone saying it's black would be WRONG, therefore, it's not an opinion, it's just a case of idiocy.

When it comes to something like movies, for example, that is a totally different story. Of course everyone can have an opinion about it because everyone has a different interest and sees things from a different view. What I like, others might hate. There is no solid answer to questions like that.

Wow. You're a nazi? You actually believe all that stuff? He was a man who did what he said he was going to do, Provide Germany with jobs but unfortunately he took jews out of work. He also sterilized homosexuals which imo is a great idea as they serve no purpose to society.

There is a massive different between fact and opinion. Like in school, I state my opinion and back it up with facts.. But my teachers claim 'I have the wrong opinion but good facts'. They can't tell me what to think.

The creator of the first pc was homosexual. If it wasn't for him you wouldn't be able to show off how Blue you are on the net.
Oh shit, you look even more Blue now.

Actually, this is an example of perceptual set, meaning neither of you could be truly right. People see things like colours based on their past experience, the context of what they see it in and all kinds of different things. We see the same thing, but how our brain interprets it is different. Neither one of you can be correct, really, as everyone will interpret this differently. It could, however, be popular opinion that the jacket is brown.

But yeah, point is it's nothing to do with idiocy.

I guess I should have rephrased what I said. They have no real purpose to the future.

And you contribute to pollution and all of that evil stuff that makes the future worse off. Should we kill you off? Ridiculous statement.

But that would then be the same as Monk's post about the sky being green.

I know some people have wacky shit with colours, though. My brother is colourblind and it's hilarious. We show him pencil crayons and ask him what colour it is because we know he will say something different than what it is.

While there is no such thing as a wrong opinion, there is certainly such thing as a illogical opinion, and such opinions should not hold merit in an intelligent society. That said, humans don't live in an intelligent society, so whatever.

Pretty much this. One of my English teachers tried to say that you can have a wrong opinion. Shit went down that day.
