UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar is seriously ill and his return has been pushed back indefinitely. According to Dana White at today's UFC 105 post fight press conference, Lesnar collapsed while at one of his properties in Canada and was rushed to the hospital, where the doctors found more wrong with him than the mono he had already been diagnosed with.

According to White, "[Lesnar] dropped. He went down, and he had to go to the hospital. They ran every test on the planet on him, and they ended up finding out something else was wrong with him."

White went on to say, "He is not good. He is very, very sick, and he's going to be out for a while...He doesn't want to talk about it publicly, but he's in bad shape. He's not well. He's not going to be getting well anytime soon."

It's unclear just how long Lesnar may be out for, but there is a possibility that not only is his illness career threatening but even worse. That is not known at this point, but Lesnar has been flown to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, to continue tests to determine what's going on with him.

White said he does not want to strip a Champion of a Title he's rightfully earned, but they may need to look at crowning an Interim Champion once again if Lesnar is held out even longer.

Damn. I wonder what's wrong with him. The part....

possibility that not only is his illness career threatening but even worse

..makes you really think about how bad this is. Striping him of the title (although harsh) maybe the way to go. They don't know how long he's going to be out for and the show must go on.

I'm not to familar on what an interm champ is though.

Interim Champ is where when the real champ cannot defend his title for some reason and they Dont find it fair to strip him so they get the two guys who were the next in line for title shots, have them fight and the winner is the champ till the real champ is able to return. Then they either have the two fight to be the Undisputed champ or do like they did recently. Have a title fight for the real belt and fight and another for the Interim belt then have the two winner of those fights go at it to be the Undisputed Champ.

In WWE terms it's basically a number 1 contender. Whoever is interim champ if/when Brock returns will end up fighting him for the title.

Last I heard Lesnar had mono... I think it spread elsewhere in the body and got internally worse... hope he gets better soon!

Oh that sucks. Brock is a very large man, maybe it's unhealthy to look that way. He might be out for a long time.

But DAMN, another interim champion? Shane Carwin hasn't fought since March I think, it's almost rounding a year since he's fought. Cane and Nog fight in a couple months, maybe Carwin would fight the winner of that fight.

Weren't Carwin/Velasquez matched up originally then Carwin was given the shot at Brock?

Yea, that was supposed to be the No. 1 Contender's match but Dana was like "FUCK YOU CANE" then gave Carwin a title fight. Velasquez won his last fight (which was supposed to be Carwin) and will now be fighting Nog. If you ask me Cane deserves it way more than Carwin.

Well, Nog has another staph infection, so he's out of his fight with Velasquez.

Carwin's recovering from knee surgery so he's not going to be making it any time soon I don't imagine.

That pretty much leaves them with nothing until Carwin is ready to go again.

Unless they wanted to do Velasquez versus the winner of Gonzaga/Dos Santos, but that seems very unlikely to me.

I was not sure what MONO was but i did research and i found this.
Infectious mononucleosis (also known as EBV infectious mononucleosis or Pfeiffer's disease or Filatov's disease[1] and colloquially as kissing disease—from its oral transmission—or as mono in North America and as glandular fever in other English-speaking countries) is an infectious, very widespread viral disease caused by the Epstein-Barr virus, a type of Herpes virus, which well over 90% of all adults are exposed to at some point in their life.[2] Most people are exposed to the virus as children, when the disease produces no noticeable symptoms or only flu-like symptoms. In underdeveloped countries, people are exposed to the virus in early childhood more often than in developed countries, which is why the disease in its observable form is more common in developed countries. It is most common among adolescents and young adults.[3]
Especially in adolescents and young adults, the disease is characterized by fever, sore throat and fatigue, along with several other possible signs and symptoms. It is primarily diagnosed by observation of symptoms, but suspicion can be confirmed by several diagnostic tests.
The syndrome was described as an infectious process by Nil Filatov[4] in 1887 and independently by Emil Pfeiffer[5] in 1889.[

Im not sounding cocky here but i thought it was more serious than that.

He could have just not taken the precautions and refused to rest, continued to train and made it much worse.

Wow this does sound pretty serious and from the latest posts some of it Brock's fault. I hope Brock gets well soon and back into the Octagon.
