Lance Archer says he hasn't wrestled as much in 2023 due to a torn triceps.
Following his loss to Will Ospreay at NJPW Dominion on Sunday, Archer revealed the news in his post-match backstage promo.
Archer said:
Archer was not among the names NJPW announced for the G1 Climax 33 this summer. He finished with six points in last year's tournament. It was the fifth G1 (2011-14, 2019, & 2022) of his career.

Prior to his match with Ospreay on Sunday, Archer hadn't wrestled since a 1PW show on April 22. He also didn't wrestle for a two-month period between a Road to the Tokyo Dome show on December 23, 2022, and an episode of AEW Rampage on February 22, 2023. Following that, he only wrestled squash matches for another two months until facing Fred Rosser at NJPW Collision in Philadelphia on April 16.There is a reason I haven't been wrestling a lot and it has nothing to do with bad booking you dumbs**ts. What everybody doesn't even realize is that I've been battling a torn triceps and I've kept it quiet, I didn't tell anybody, because I don't need your sympathy, I don't need your get well wishes, I don't need anything. I just needed time and now I'm back.
