Kurt Angle was asked during an interview with Chicago Now where he sees TNA in the next five years.

“It continues to grow no doubt worldwide,” Angle said. “We are on the road for good and we are taking little steps to improve the overall product. I believe in 5 years if things are done right we could be competing with the monster (WWE). They have amazing programming and Vince McMahon has done wonders for his product. I have been in Impact Wrestling for 7 years and I thought by now we would be up in the ratings. I believe that’s going to take a little more time.”

Also during the interview, Angle also discussed retirement, the milk truck incident, if MMA will ever become an Olympic sport and other topics.

For some reason I won't believe it, until I see how being on the Road turns out for them.

Depends on what he means by "competing with"

TNA is already "competing with" WWE in some sense. If you are a fan of wrestling and hate WWE, TNA is growing to the point where those types of fans are more and more likely to turn to TNA as an alternative. This forum is a perfect example of that. When I joined the first thing I did was make a discussion thread for TNA in Wembley last year. We had no TNA section. hell, we had no other wrestling section. I posted that motherfucker in the locker room. And then we got the other wrestling section as more people began to watch. Eventually it became popular enough to have it's own section, and now the section is pretty damn busy.

But we started with like a 3 or 4 man crew who would follow TNA regularly, and now we must have at least 20 or so who keep up with TNA. The bigger TNA gets and the more WWE fucks around the more people who start to say "maybe I'll watch Impact this week and see if I like it"
