The similarities are there... Both men are great technical wrestlers, inf act, two of the best all time. Both men portrayed both a heel and a face for extended periods of time. Both men worked for the two "major companies of their time", both have a similar amount of accomplishments (Angle is a 6 time World Champion in WWE, and 2 time in TNA... Bret is a 5 time in WWE, 2 time in WCW), and both have had a considerable amount of controversy. Any way you slice it though, they are two of the most succesful guys in the history of wrestling, and two similar guys, who I would've loved to see go one-on-one....

TDK got it right. Also, Angle isn't an unprofessional bitch (well at least not as big a one as Bret)

Growing up I was a massive Hitman fan - Thru him & Jim, the IC and eventually the world title reigns and totally acknowledge how much of a positive influence he had on the general quality of ME matches. However, for me, he totally shat over his legacy on a certain night in Montreal (Not so much for his actions per say, but for the hypocrisy of him not practicing what he preached in terms of ethics.).

By direct comparrison of skills (mic, technical, charisma and so on), I'd rank Kurt significantly above Bret, but FFwd a few years from Bret's exit to Kurt's debut and the Attutude revolution was in full flight - Kurt arrived in a VERY different era and as a result I find it very hard to compare the two.

As an aside, I think given Kurt's legit pedigree, I think it harms perception of him to not be in the world #1 promotion.

BOTH would have been MUCH better off as WWE lifers.
