Since Kurt Angle left the WWE 2006, fans have awaited the inevitable day that the Olympic gold medalist would return to the company.
He's been one of TNA's biggest stars for almost seven years now, but that doesn't mean WWE fans may never see him again.
Angle recently appeared on the The Overtime with Grande & Max podcast (via WrestlingInc.com) and gave some interesting responses to questions regarding his retirement.
Asked about which company he'll wrestle his retirement match for, Angle replied:
It could be anywhere. I'm not going to disrespect either company by telling lies or telling the truth, but I'll just say this: There's a chance that I could be anywhere to retire, and I'm sure that I'll have that option when the time comes.
Angle is a six-time world champion in the WWE and an extremely talented wrestler, so he's likely correct when he states that he'll have the choice of where to retire.
However, he may have already given away the answer to the "Which company will you retire in?" question when he discussed his ideal opponents.
The picks would be between Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, or obviously John Cena or Dwayne Johnson...
Hopefully one of the guys comes down to TNA and I can retire there, but you don't know what's going to happen.
This may not sound like a big revelation for some, but Kurt has been a big company man for TNA in the past, so the fact that he's even hinting at wrestling for another promotion is very interesting.
And in that same spirit Angle sang praises for TNA but again teased a WWE retirement run:
"I love TNA and I love to work for the company, but there comes a time when you know that you want to retire and how you want to do it, and you gotta do it your way."
Another note to take from the interview was that Angle was adamant about retiring for real, stating that once he retires we'll never see him in the ring again.
