WRESTLING legend Kurt Angle has officially announced his intention to compete at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The TNA star — who won gold in freestyle wrestling in 1996 %#151; will attempt to reclaim his crown, 16 years after his first success and at the age of 43.
Kurt dropped into Sun HQ last week to tell us about his plans — and take the chance to have an impromptu training session!
Sadly, our very own Lee Walpole was no match for the Impact Wrestling star in the arm-wrestling stakes.
Kurt, who was in the UK to launch TNA's January 2012 Maximum Impact IV Tour, then took a tour of The Sun's offices before heading to our WrestleCast studio for a chat with our Award Winning hosts, Joel Ross and Rob McNichol.
Kurt told them: "I've been training for the past two months. I have another nine months to train until the US try-outs, so I'll be ready
"I've set my sights on this. There are certain goals I had in my life and I've done them.
"I won an Olympic gold medal, but last time I did it I didn't really enjoy it. I didn't have fun. It was more of a job and there was a lot of pressure on me.
"This time I'm going to soak it in, enjoy everything I do from the training to going to London and making the Olympic team, enjoying it and remembering the Olympics instead of putting it out of my mind.
"Back then I was like a zombie. I really didn't get to enjoy the Olympic experience.
"Some people say 'Kurt's not going to try for the Olympic team — he said he was going to do MMA and he didn't do it'.
"Well this is under my terms. I'm training under my terms. I know what it takes to get ready. I'm wiser, I'm smarter, I won't make the mistakes I made last time and I'm going to enjoy it."
