TNA star Kurt Angle told WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh that he was aiming to return to the Olympic Games when they are held in 2012 in London.

"It's not just this old man trying to lash out to get publicity," Angle told WTAE. "It's about really making the team and making a point that, you know what, the 40s is not old. It's the new young."

"I feel really good at 42, and I might be making a statement that him (34 year old nephew Mark Angle) and I are going to start training for the Olympics and go after the U.S. Open, the Olympic team trials, and then the Olympics."
Angle has long talked of returning to the Olympics, where he won a gold medal in 1996 in Atlanta. In his WWF autobiography "It's True, It's True", Angle closed the book by announcing he intended to train for the 2004 Olympics. That never came to be.

This is just an old man trying to lash out to get publicity. Angle is crazy so you can't believe anything he says. He has no chance of making the team in the physical state he is in, too many injuries and his body won't be able to keep up with the trials. Maybe it would be best if he just helps train his nephew and tries to help him get on the team.

He has no chance of making the team or even passing a physical, end of story.

I think we can all see Kurt's going to be one of these guys like Hogan, Flair, etc. that never know when to give it up.

Made me lol.

Totally delusional if he actually thinks that, but definitely lulz worthy.

Unfortunately Lucky I agree with you. Angle will be on that continues to wrestle until he is either paralysed or dies in the ring. He just can't step away from it which is sad because he is killing himself doing it.

On his Twitter account, @anglefoods1, Kurt Angle just wrote the following about his recent comments that he was training to try and wrestle at the 2012 Olympics:

much negativity goin round @ Olympic comeback.I truly am getting ready.Don't compare it to my Ufc- mma attempts,We couldn't agree on "terms"

More lies from Angle. If he thinks he can make it he is delusional. Yeah UFC/MMA couldn't agree to terms since those companies wouldn't even think he could win a fight and knew that he would be a waste of money. Angle needs to see a shrink.

Couldn't agree on terms.

Haha yeah, that's it Kurt.

Just like Batista and Strikeforce couldn't agree on terms, right?

Batista's talks with Strikeforce were legit, Angle's were just the same old song and dance ever since the sport blew up.
