For those who were looking forward to the return of The Korean Zombie Chan Sung Jung come UFC Fight Night 53 will have to wait, as injury has recently set back his return and forced him out of his scheduled co main event against Akira Corassani this October.
The source was first reported from the website MMA-in-Asia, but later on Chuck Minderhall from MMAFighting.com took some time to speak with Jung's manager Brian Rhee who confirmed the injury was to the same shoulder he injured in the Aldo fight.
Jung has been on the sidelines for a full year after suffering a separated shoulder in his unsuccessful title bid against Aldo back in Aldo's home country of Brazil back at UFC 163. Prior to that, he earned four post fight bonus awards in three fights, avenging his WEC Fight of the Year to Leonard Garcia with a Twister Submission, knocking out former title challenger Mark Hominick in 7 seconds (which is a three way tie for the fastest knocked in UFC history), and went to the war for 4 rounds with UFC Featherweight win leader Dustin Poirier, ultimately choking him out with his own signature D'arce choke.
No replacement has been announced for Corassani as of yet.

Brian Rhee said:Yes, unfortunately, [Jung] strained the shoulder that he dislocated in the Aldo fight. No structural damage, he just has to do rehab for four weeks, then the doctors will reevaluate.
