AEW News: Komander suffered ‘significant’ knee injury
Former ROH TV Champion Komander recently suffered a significant knee injury during a match in Mexico.

There are now more specifics on the injury suffered by former Ring of Honor TV Champion Komander that will likely keep him out of next week’s Fantasticamania in Arena Mexico.
First reported by Dave Meltzer in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the high flyer was hurt on a show in Oaxaca, Mexico, last Sunday, slipping on the ropes while doing his ropewalk Fosbury flop spot. One of his tag team opponents, Ultimo Guerrero, managed to catch him, but Komander still suffered what Meltzer wrote is “a significant knee injury.”
Komander was set to team with “Speedball” Mike Bailey and Kevin Knight against The Hurt Syndicate at this week’s AEW Summer Blockbuster, but was not medically cleared. A backstage attack by MJF, Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin aired that night wrote him out of the match.
“He was getting it checked this week to find out the severity of it, but he did show up to Dynamite and wanted to do the match and the doctors said no way possible, so it is serious,” Meltzer wrote.
With that, Komander appears unlikely for next Friday’s Fantasticamania match that was to feature himself, ROH World Champion Bandido and Hologram challenging reigning champions Mistico, Dorada and Neon. A replacement has yet to be announced.
