I really hope Kofi starts blossoming this year. I really like Kofi.(It doesn't hurt that I've always had a thing for African men)but besides that, I think he's a hell of an athlete, but it's time for him to flesh out on the mic. I think that day he had the match with Big Show was one of the only times I ever saw him cut a promo. I want to see him do more that accent is delicious...enough to make this gal go crazy.

Besides my attraction to him though I really do think he has potential to be great if his character blossoms soon. What do you guys think? You think he has a future in WWE?

I want him to turn heel and become a Jamaican Drug-lord, wearing a black suit with glasses down to the ring. :shifty:

Um, as for Kofi, I like him to from a match standpoint. However, I really don't think he has enough character to ever make it as a full time main eventer. The main event scene is dominated by storylines and characters, and I don't see Kofi fitting that mold. I see him more like a Rey Mysterio, where he has the fan base of a main eventer, and can be passed off as one, but spends most of his time in the upper midcard, and occasionally tag division, as a fan favorite. He'll probabyl get a sniff of a title run in a few years, like Rey did, but I don't see him being a full time main eventer. I see him as one of those gusy whose a great midcarder, brings some honor to the IC and US belts, is loved by fans, and puts on a great match though.

I'de love to see a Kendrick/Kofi feud leading up the #1 contender for the U.S. title.

You do know he's a J'fake'n, don't you?

....From what I've heard from him thus far he's not likely to be able to hold down his accent long enough to convey a decent lengh promo with any emotion.

If this IS the case then, as Mike said, file under Rey or Jeff Hardy at best.

^^^In reality? Haven't a clue...

Defo not Jamaican tho'... The laboured accent is a dead give away... Besides, just ask his Mum! ;o]

Edit: Wiki says: "...was born in Ghana; his family moved to the United States in 1982."

^^I hope thats true. Then he can just talk normally, drop the cheesy smile and lame "boom boom" crap.

^^^Effectively, ditch the entire gimmick (inc. name) then? ...Sounds good to me! :y:

(I s'pose the name could be kept if the gave him a SouthWest London accent! LOL )

WWE have wrestlers change their gimmicks all the time and pretty much assume that the viewers don't notice and/or don't care. It wouldn't be too hard for them to quietly change Kofi's Jamaican gimmick, but I don't know that there would be much point. As he is, he's a potential upper-mid carder who'll occasionally be in multi-person scenarios in the main event. I think even if he did drop this gimmick and start cutting promos, I still can't see him establishing himself in the main event or winning the world title.

He's got a degree in communications... the guy knows speech. He can cut a badass promo. He's been in the States his entire talking life, so chances are, he's got a pure American accent. He can change his gimmick up down the line, maybe have him go off injured for a while, let people forget, and bring him back as American.

I don't know if the Jamaican thing alone is enough to bolster him into the ME. I see him needing the change to get it done.

Anybody with Jamaician in their blood (or even seen/heard Jamaician's speak) knew Kofi was no Jamaician. Probably one of the worst accents I've ever heard.

Aside from that, Kofi needs a big feud against a fellow mid carder. No title on the line. Just pure wrestling. It'll get him more recognition which would lead to a title. The HHH effect he had on Shelton is what Kofi needs.
